We shouldn't stay in lockdown because the government have asked us ...

... we should do it because its the sensible thing to do.

They had an outbreak of SARS back in 2002 as well as MERS in 2015 so they knew how dangerous it could be and were on watch for it.

If you're given the option i'd take the money back. Depending on which airline you're with they may not be around any longer.

South Korea have extremely advanced disease prevention and diagnosis tools, including people tasked entirely with tracing the contacts of those diagnosed. We do not, and we didn't take it seriously until too late for that.

Apples and oranges, and the oranges may well prove to be mouldy in the long run. The only thing that will keep this manageable is lockdown.
