So a player who’s already signed a pre contract agreement to sign for his new club from July 1st when the window opens is going to be refused this right, under what legal grounds like? Oh and btw the Dutch FA have said post the discussions with UEFA today that the current season must conclude by August 3rd or its done.
All this says to me is that people are actually working on finding solutions. Giving up is defeatist and not what you want or expect from anyone involved in sport. Whatever the outcome, walking away wasn't the first option taken.
The official Dutch Football Twitter said this - "UEFA had decided that all domestic leagues must now be finished by August 3rd instead of June 30th. That means the Eredivisie season could be finished!" "KNVB is aiming to resume the Eredivisie season in mid-June." They are delighted. Congratulations (albeit hasty) coming in.
That espn link says the same thing as I've read on the official Dutch site which is "rather than placing June 30 as a finish.date, there's now no definitive deadline". Did you read the whole thing? They thought it all had to be done by end of June, now that it doesn't, their plans to start back mid-June will fit the remainder of games into the season. Usual caveat applies.
If you’ve read the official Dutch FA site article, then you’ll have also seen the August 3rd deadline for completion of all competitions in Europe, post the UEFA meeting today.
Cannot wait to watch the conclusion of this season. Hopefully the behind close doors 3pms don't conflict with the dozens of funerals we have planned for the summer.
Btw that link you posted is still going and UEFA have said no date of August 3 was mentioned, the Dutch FA have used that as their own prospective finish line.
So the current official line is that the date for finishing seasons has been pushed back (presumably either hoping an agreement can be done in contracts or just deciding to deal with the fall out) and that there are European FAs saying if football hasn’t resumed by mid-June they are preparing for the eventuality that they then have to cancel the season. So pretty much what all sensible people thought anyway - they are still hoping to cram the season in before the new season but at some point if that stops being possible the season will be cancelled.
No, exactly the opposite. The Dutch have put their own dates on it and worked out that they need to start back by mid-June and foresee a August 3rd finish. UEFA haven't put any dates on it. Extend indefinitely is still the order of the day ...... until it isn't. You and tobes have added the cancelled/must be done by yourselves ...... shocker.
He knows that, I posted it......he’s just trying to put his own ‘spin’ on things, as per ****ing usual.
The 'discontinuation of competitions' if that's what you're referring to are the cups and everything other than the Eredivisie. If it's August 3rd you're referring to (I'm not sure exactly which bit you're trying to point out because that link is still going on) Dale Johnson has said all the information he's put on there is from the Dutch FA website. The Dutch FA are using August 3rd for themselves not the whole of Europe as no date has been put forward.
Martyn Ziegler on that Dale Johnson link - if you read it - says "for clarity on the Dutch FA statement UEFA haven't set August 3rd as a deadline, it was one option discussed". Now go and read your earlier post introducing the Dutch FA into this discussion and tell me who's putting spin on things.
What part of the Dutch FA changed the wording of that article, after the ESPN reporters tweet that I posted, are you struggling with? He then posted another one that confirmed the change of wording, that Astro posted. The answer is still you btw.
ttps://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/major-uefa-decision-clears-path-18023468 By hook or by crook this season will be finished, even if it affects next season. The agents, kit manufacturers, TV companies and all the other greedy bastards will just have to wear it. The fans want it finished and the Liverpool fans want the title. If next season suffers, so be it. A ball hasn't been kicked for that yet. This is what people don't get
It's not about Liverpool, the title is already done and as been since Christmas! It's about settling things elsewhere; CL spots, relegation, promotion, etc
