I said to my missus this morning that he must be very ill to be in hospital. Didn’t buy into the “tests” bullshit.

If he's been moved to intensive care....this is not good news. Once again sending a warning to everyone, this is not like flu!

I meant that I don't understand why they even attempted to dress it up like that.

Intensive care means he’s struggling to breathe on his own, and he will need 24 hour monitoring. There’s no two ways about it, he’s fighting for his life.

If he pulls through this I’d imagine our NHS is going to receive one hell of a makeover.

Even if he doesn’t I hope when all this is over the NHS gets all the backing in all forms it needs .No matter what party is in Government.

Boris shares a lot of Trumps traits imo.
Probably felt a bit ‘above’ it all. I bet he has done loads of meetings etc in the last few weeks with hardly and distancing measures in place.

    Viruses don’t give a **** how important/rich you are.
    I wish him the best.

It shouldn't have taken this for the NHS to receive proper funding. But I truly hope that it does after this is over, because we all rely on it and this event shows just how fragile life can be. Hoping Boris pulls through. Very surreal to have the PM in intensive care, but it shows just how indiscriminate this virus is.

Indeed. The survival rates for those entering intensive care due to this virus are poor.

Even now Trump is saying he won't wear a mask, despite the order for all Americans to do so in public.

    Very poor form imo.
Leaders should always be seen to set an example. How many of Trumps supporters will do the same?

I fear the worst here, he’s going to need some serious strength and good fortune to beat it.

They’re saying he’s not yet on a ventilator which is a good sign, but he must be struggling with merely oxygen if they’ve chosen to move him into ICU.

I agree about some traits , but at least Boris seemed to me to suddenly realise in the tv broadcast that it was serious . Trump just doesn’t seem to give a damn .

You’d imagine ICU is the worst place to be in terms of viral load if there’s no requirement for artificial breathing apparatus.

Hopefully if he pulls through he’ll appreciate the severity and urgency of dealing with this virus a lot more.

Watched the BBC broadcast from inside the UCH tonight. The word “hero” gets used a lot, but those NHS staff are exactly that.

One of my colleague’s partner is a nurse. Only qualified a year ago. Did two 16 hour shifts this weekend.

All those frontline staff deserve a thumping great bonus for this. Wayne Rooney can pay.
