Given our takeover is soon to be announced the talk will turn to DoF, manager and players.

Considering we do not know who the new manager will be discussing players may well be a moot point.

So..... who do we save and who do we look to get?

Rumours of Coutinho again - yet some would argue Almiron/ASM are out strongest outfield players.
Rumours of Kouibilly (sp) again - yet some would argue our defence is our strongest outfield collective

For me our weakest area is midfield yet not one rumour of a quality midfielder.

Definitely need improvement in centre mid and a decent striker or No10 who can hold the ball up more. Aside from goals, this was Rondon's biggest contribution to the team last year

The below is based on a gradual progression (top ten next season, pushing for EL season afterwards).

I'd say we are strongest at CB and GL.

    Priorities for me would be:

Striker - Starter, and backup. Let's see how Joelinton does as second backup striker and backup wide player.

Creative No 10. Playmaker with Matty as an understudy.

Rb. With Manq as a backup.

LB. I'd be happy with Willems.

DM. With S Longstaff and Hayden as backups.

You'd then need a bit more cover (particularly out wide).

I'd get rid of Shelvey, Bentlaleb, Yedlin, Atsu and of course the likes of Colback, Saivet etc

We need a new striker as the only options we have there are championship quality. Cavani or Rondon would suffice.

I think we need a new right winger, as Ritchie is passed his peak now. If the rumours of Rafa Silva and Mertens are true, him, ASM and Almiron would be a strong attack behind the striker.

We need a destroyer in midfield.

We need a left back, someone like Luke Shaw would be great.

Who to get rid of - Elliot, Clark, Sterry, Colback, Shelvey, Saivet, Joelinton, Gayle, Carroll.

dunno why people want current first teamers sold... players get injured , theres cup matches and squad rotation required.

you keep them , get better players and get rid of the colbacks, gayle, atsu and ****e like that.

No one should be sold, we can afford wage outlay now. We have a decent midtable side, we build on what we have. They have proven they can come on and do a job over the years, so I say keep the players.

Danny Ings is number 1 on my list, top player, natural goalscorer. Will cost us a lot but Saints are a selling club, we could nab him quite easily for a pretty penny. I reckon they'd part with him for £40 - £50M?

Tough midfielder is needed too, a younger right back, a stronger left back. Those are the areas I think a top manager would come in and say we need new players in order to compete.

I don't think we should be pumping ungodly amounts of cash into the club instantly, but I deffo think a few signings to show intent is in order, a top 10 finish is also desperately needed for the sponsorship, international appeal, move us into the more important parts of the table.

If we can sign a few top players, from a few places around the world and finish in the top 10 with a new manager, we will make people pay attention and pick up international fans.

Apparently Koulibaly is our top target.

Exactly this, a number 10 and a striker top priorities though.

The foundations are only there if we use a manager like Rafa

    No there isn't

We have Almiron and Asm. That's it in an attacking front. The rest are rubbish

the foundations are in place for a manager to add those without worrying too much about defence .. its already pretty solid...

If we're the richest club in the world and we line up with Yedlin and Lascelles in the team we might aswell not bother
