France have just called an end to their season with current standings declared final and relegations and promotions also happening

Okay, for the first time I actually believe this season is over and it won't be played to a conclusion like in France so if this is the case the only argument will be is it null & voided or declared and settled as is or use PPG. I'm guessing the decision will be based on what is less litigious. Is it fairer to give everyone a second go at champions league, premier league even though they've been crap and not earned it or say with over three quarters of the season played you are where you on merit so far, ignoring that form etc. might change?

Just read an article, don’t know where <doh> staying if Boris announces no easing of restrictions on 7th as expected, league will take a vote among its 72 members or whatever exact figure is to decide on one of the three options available. Apparently void is least favoured. The end is near

The conundrum is Villa they would have to decide on points per game and you can bet whichever team would be relegated (if they decided on that route) they'd be fighting it in court

With the £gazillions flying around in the Premier League they should just arrange for Villa to play their game in hand. Quarantine the 2 teams for a fortnight, play the game, job done.

Unfortunately if Villa win that brings 1 (or 2) of WHU, Watford and B'mth into the reckoning. They have the same PPG.

Boris said tonight he will announce a lockdown escape plan next week, things may be a little clearer then but not a chance if games take place will there be any fans present.

People are worried about fans turning up anyway, simple solution to that, if fans turn up en masse, the club are deducted 3 points, what fan would want to be responsible for that.

Agree with that proposal. We need to plan who will be going to Fulham/Brentford if it starts to get tight though!

I see the Premier League big wigs are meeting again today to discuss "Project Restart"
The are frantically pushing out several ideas to its members clubs to be able to re-start including
    5 subs each
playing at neutral venues (latest suggestion is on training grounds)
Asking the squads to quarantine away from their families for 7 weeks
So many obstacles in the way - fail to see how they will do it!

If health comes first, which is what they all keep saying, then there is only one outcome here at this moment in time.

Won’t happen as players are increasingly voicing their dislike for idea of finishing season. Aguera from city latest one

Don't particularly like the bloke, but Mourinho's right in this instance

‘We have to look at the Premier League as the global brand that it is and the reason it is that big is because of the quality of play and the quality of players that are in it and to be hindering ourselves with certain things like face masks and things, it is going to be off-putting, it is not going to be natural and people are going to be ripping them off in the middle of training..

‘ think it is quite farcical. I understand why people are desperate to get football on – I am one of those people – but it’s got to be done in a sensible way, and at the right time, in a way that keeps not only the players and staff safe but there is so much that goes into a football game. There are going to be ambulances at training and at games: is it fair to take that [resource] from the NHS? It’s not as if it’s just two squads facing each other. There’s a lot more input to it and it puts a lot more people at risk. It’s going to be very hard to mark players at a corner if there are social distancing measures in place.’

I understand some of it but a few of the ideas are crazy... Not allowed to shower at the ground? I thought soap and water was the best way to get rid of it... Players can’t eat at the ground, takeaways can be delivered? Seriously, you work at Pizza Hut a team at the neutral ground (let’s say Man U) orders 20 pizzas for Man U and you’re a Liverpool fan??

For the first time I can’t see the season continuing, not at Championship level. They want 10 neutral grounds to stop fans congregating outside

I read through it, & complex though it is, I think they've excluded possibly the most important 'player'. Can you guess who that is? I'll save you - it's the insurance industry.

Imagine a £100m player catches the virus, possibly, but not necessarily on the field of play. He then dies. Club want an insurance payout.

Insurance company says "Did he observe social distancing at all times?", and the truthful answer "No" is the reply.

Are the insurance company going to say "That's ok then, here's £100m". Are they fcuk!

If I was an insurance company, I most certainly wouldn't pay out. Would you?

Never thought of that, good point, I’m hoping the PL do find a way around it all to finish the season as it has to mean relegation
