It's plausible that FPP were going to buy 80% of the club originally. That's what the Saudis are reportedly looking to do with Newcastle.

It would explain some of Donald's contradictory comments like would they want to keep me on, and they never offered to buy the club.

I think this might be the case, but I think Juan may keep his 20% and be used later for his links in football, I'm just guessing like. Who knows

Totally agree, i didn't say I wanted him to stay on board, just think he might, reports he wants a feeder club and wants to move to the UK makes me wonder

I think that it's quite possible that they liked the look of us from the outside, which means at the start, Donald might have quite reasonably assumed that they would want to take it all on immediately.

My personal opinion is that they decided not to do that before they made an offer to buy a majority stake, which caught Donald off guard. That doesn't mean that anyone is at fault or that FPP don't want us.

I think that they just started off with the idea of getting into an early stage investment in a club that was 30 seconds away from where FPP wanted them to be anyway. By the time they got to decision time in November, we were 10 points off automatic promotion and in mid-table with serious questions about the squad and manager. That makes it more than likely that you're buying a league one club for the next 18 months, and if you balls it up as first timers, potentially longer.

I think that people need to accept that it's possible that FPP wanted us, may still want us, but that they are not comfortable with absorbing the costs any type of prolonged league one stay and never made a bid for all of the club before they made the loan offer that allows them to buy us when we get promoted or walk away if we never do. They clearly hope to do more, but it really does appear to be conditional on getting promoted.

Again, all of this is compatible, it wouldn't mean anyone was 'wrong' per se, it would just explain why people including Donald and those around him insist that they didnt make an offer.

It is all coming out in the wash now. Stewart Donald is like Hitler in his bunker now awaiting the inevitable ending.

Just read it and didn't find it particularly illuminating. Seemed like therapy for the writer if anything. Lots of supposition although fully understand the concerns. It was open about jumping on the back of the mail piece and there is a clear agenda.
Anyway, they're making pretty much impossible for SD to stay, which will please everyone. Just hope FPP don't go with him.

It’s the £25m loan they took from the club interest free that bothers me. If true they owe the club a lot of money, pair of crooks

I found out a bit about the author in the last 6 months (ironically after being told I was him for a while) and while I may disagree on some things, I can say that from the account I I from an impeccable source, he's sacrificed an awful lot professionally to stand up for the club. I also believe now that he has more information than he is able to state without personal consequence.

I definitely listen to him more since finding that out.

A very worrying read and raised more questions about the ownership of the club from the very beginning. It seems that Donald and co were intent on making as much money out of the club as possible and clear off before it all came out.

Cheers. Appreciate that. He is obviously committed and I shall give him/them more credence following your comments.

Each to their own. It sounds like they’ve not said all they can. Quite balanced. Written from the heart and (because they can’t say all they know) with the best interests of the club at heart.

I've said for ages, we're lucky to have so many very committed, intelligent fans. I like GOM, he obviously knows his stuff, but I do feel (maybe I'm wrong) that he wants to see the best in the owners. I'm glad we've got his expertise and reading of things, but lads like yourself and Chris deserve credit as well, it's not easy going against the grain so to speak, and I've always enjoyed reading not necessarily the opposing view, but certainly a different reading of things. That's what we need, a range of people who know what they're talking about looking at things from different perspectives. I think some of the recent things aren't maybe the major issues people think they are, but I'm glad that anything anyone tries will be pulled up by someone! If Methven thought our fans were daft, uneducated northerners he'll have had that misconception not so much thrown in his face as shoved up his arse
