I was a late adopter. Knew they’d never catch on First I remember was the Nokia slider from the matrix. I was very excited about getting football scores via WAP. It was the phone alternative to staring at teletext
Mine was one of these, a Mitsubishi Roamer, 1990. Came with the new job and company car, originally sold for £2200 I believe. Bloody thing weighed a ton, you couldn’t get a signal to make calls on it and the car kit looked like a rocket launcher in the dark. Impressed the young ladies no end though...
I think it was a 7 or maybe 9, it was the one that you could use in several different countries as there was a time when the US, EU, Asia and AU had slightly different mobile networks.
I hated the idea of them and it was only 3 Christmases ago that I relented and one of my sons bought me one. Which I still have. a Huawei 360
Yep, the one my mum and dad had and th first time I realised how dumb arse this country could be when I realised the US and practically everywhere else in the world used 111 for emergency calls instead of 999
111? 911 in the Americas & 112 in most of Europe. Never heard of 111. Btw, we were the first to have one - in 1937.
