To be fair to Cummings the Govt guidance isn’t that clear.
The punctuation suggests that there’s only one friend that has lots of houses that we all need to avoid.
Soon as we know which that person is things will be a lot easier.

Some quite witty and pertinent stuff on there unfortunately drowned out by the usual #fbpe #gtto athiest embittered losers who infest it with their impotent bile.

Cabinet sticking their necks out to support Cummings, but risk losing the faith and obedience of the electorate in doing so.

Starmer right to hang back and let them stew. Not the time to play party politics.

Basic incompetence in government crisis management in not getting the full story from Cummings before Deciding on a story and getting the cabinet to roll out their coordinated defence.

They’re defending the indefensible. Pleading that a wealthy, well-connected Covid positive couple in London have no choice but to travel 250+ miles with their child to stay on the property of his elderly parents to self isolate is bad enough, when contrary to the basic rules on self isolation and staying at home when testing positive. They’re too sick to look after their child, but not sick enough to drive? They don’t have any connections or support in London? (They do have family in London). But the second trip to Durham, the day trip to Barnard Castle, the denial that the police visited the property and spoke to the family, the contradictory timelines of who was where when all add up to rank hypocrisy.

We’ve all been impacted one way or another, I expect Sunday’s news to be a series of vox pops of stories of sacrifice and self-denial from ordinary folk, asking why there appears to be double standards for those in power.
