Good Morning. It's Monday 25th May, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Leeds players return to training at Thorp Arch

Over ten weeks since their last competitive game, Leeds Utd have been given the green light to return to training at Thorp Arch. Whilst we await to hear on a date for the season to recommence, and whether home or neutral venues will be designated, it is surely good news for Leeds fans.

I'm sure we all read yesterday that Hull City have two unnamed casualties of the deadly virus on their books. Although the duo have no ill effects, both will have to self isolate for seven days!

    Is seven days enough?

What are the chances that one of more players from the Championship catch the virus between now and the restart of the season? Now that training has recommenced, the entire squad will not be able to train for a week!

What kind of advantage would that give to the opposition?

Be careful what you wish for

Although it's fantastic news that Leeds have resumed training, and a return to action is only weeks away; there is the little matter of 27 points to be played for!

A visit to the Cardiff City Stadium has rarely been kind to us, and should Fulham sneak a win at Elland Road the next game, our advantage will be more or less lost.

Alarmingly, since Leeds returned to the Championship in the 09/10 season, they have averaged 9.2 points from the final nine games, during which they have dropped two places.

Even last season under Bielsa, we only averaged 10 points!

    10/11 season - 11 points and drop 2 places

    11/12 season - 7 points and drop 4 places

    12/13 season - 9 points and drop 3 places

    13/14 season - 10 points and drop 2 places

    14/15 season - 8 points and drop 2 places

    15/16 season - 9 points and drop 1 place

    16/17 season - 9 points and drop 3 places

    17/18 season - 10 points and level

    18/19 season - 10 points and drop 1 place

Morning all. No surprise with Hull situation. To be honest it’s all getting increasingly confusing by the day. Saw a report yesterday that that once again, there may be no relegation from the pl. The entire fiasco, and that’s what footballs handling of the affair is becoming, needs all the necessary final decisions to be made this week and get on with it. We don’t finish seasons we’ll but hopefully this will be more akin to a start of season

    Morning all,

I'd imagine neither of the Dull positive tests are players, they'd make a song and dance of it, if they were, they're desperate to do anything to prevent the season continuing as they know they are very likely to drop into league 1if it continues.

Not great stats at all but it's a different season now, 15 should be enough, especially if 3 of them come against Fulham.

I’m really happy that it looks like the football is going to restart but I’m not really sure why it’s possible for players to be allowed to resume ‘closer contact’ when no one else in the country can?

Because they are to be tested twice a week. So that makes 5he risk low and can be controlled. This virus will not die off and has to be managed.

Except the test only shows positive only when you have it, a snapshot in time, you can still pass it on before showing symptoms, which is the reason for the social distancing two meter rule.

Yes mate I do, the only set of fans that come close to Derby for idiocracy, and that takes some doing.

Don't forget we've been in their slip stream for the last 15 years :emoticon-0102-bigsm, they seem to be ignorant of the table the last 3 seasons. I suppose when you're as small time as they are, you'll clutch on to anything.

The Dull Tigers. Roar roar roar.

At least they'll be the 6th biggest club in league 1 next season. That is unless Coventry fail to go up and then they'll be the 7th.

Eh, if it showed positive when you didn't have it, it wouldn't be much use would it.

What I mean is until you show symptoms (unless you’re asymptomatic) the test shows negative even the day before but you are still contagious at that point.

    Morning all.

So, you have the virus, you are contagious, but the test shows negative? That can’t be right?

But they haven't trained together before the tests, only after testing negative, so if they only then mix together with fellow negative tested people how can they catch it ? If done proper should be impossible.
