Woody likes to post links to stuff, stand back, and then demand a reaction. I’d like to know what he thinks not waste time looking at what a crypto fascist thinks. If he posted this stuff on the conspiracy theory thread, where it belongs, I wouldn’t have a point because I wouldn’t have seen it.
Yeah sorry, I was being facetious. It was something I used to post under some of Kiwi's cut and paste stuff trying to elicit an opinion. Changing the subject, do you get the feeling that 'the science' is starting to break ranks from the government? I still don't watch the briefings, but I do get wind of them and it seems to me that some of the scientific advisors are no longer willing to be complicit in the Coronavirus clusterfuck. I don't think Vallance and Whitty haven't been seen for a while have they?
What’s a conspiracy theory website? An example of one? I don’t know any. I can only form my opinions of world events based on information received. Same for most people on most things. Links and attachments are useful, people often ask for a source when none is provided. But I’ll attempt to answer. I think this virus is real, I think it’s equivalent to a nasty seasonal flu. I think the media were all over it and relentless from early in the year. I think mainstream media play a huge part of the theatre production. I was baffled from day one that the global economy should be allowed to rot based on the modelling of an individual who had got it so vastly wrong many times. I was confused that the healthy should be quarantined. I was and still am confused why the legislation stated that regardless of other illnesses or diseases, if there is the mere suspicion of symptoms, covid should be recorded on the death certificate, no autopsy, no second opinion. I think this virus was used as an opportunity to roll out all sorts of new control measures, the new notion of “lockdown”, tracking and tracing, massive tax raises to come, global vaccination. I think the looms of legislation were probably sitting in a drawer, waiting for any chance to be implemented. This was all largely based on instinct. Subsequently voices started emerging, challenging the official narrative. Of course, these are not people who were on my radar before, but many seem wholly credible and highly qualified. When such voices exist but are given no airtime on the bbc or any of the main propaganda agencies, further suspicion is triggered. Same with 9/11, thousands of professionals, never given a voice on MSM. Same with the climate emergency, a huge meteorological, climatological, other scientific voice, never given a voice, in fact I believe a bbc directive from months ago stated that there should no longer be any balance on the topic. I would link a 3 minute video summarising the position of the 160 German scientists who are gathering to question the official position, but it’s been taken down by YouTube, just like so many other challenging voices lately. Has the mainstream media earned the right to be trusted over the years? Have successive governments proven that their primary concerns are for the health and safety of the population and for the growing prosperity of the country they represent? You said recently that you’re not prepared to listen to Cahill because of other, non scientific, info you know or believe about her, Mikowits because of her legal battle, and you don’t want to listen to Sumption because you don’t like him, can’t remember your feelings about Hitchins. What about John Ioannides, Sucharit Bhakdi, Knut Wittkowski or any of the other seeming big hitters with opposing opinions?
Linking me and anything I post to the conspiracy thread is a cop out. I post the things I post in the hope that people may believe that there is another side to the argument, that you’d not know about if you get your world view from the bbc.
Vallance and Whitty refused to stand by Johnson when he did the press conference about Cummings, the day before Cummings did his own bizarre thing. But they were back a couple of days later when Johnson stopped them getting questions about the example set by Cummings. I think the whole thing is a clusterfuck. The scientists we see standing next to the politicians are wholly owned bits of the government. Some of those contributing to SAGE are beginning to speak out. All too late to make any difference. 60/65,000 dead and counting, a ****ed economy and collapsing trust in government, which is beyond who comprises the current government, just the latest nail in the coffin of trust in elected representatives. Quite an achievement.
Coronavirus Scotland LIVE: First Minister Nicola Sturgeon warns those flouting lockdown rules and threatens five mile limit could become law By Jack Haugh Last updated: 8 mins ago 2:05pm TOO many people were ignoring the lockdown rules and risk restrictions being re-imposed, the First Minister has warned. Nicola Sturgeon said at the weekend, the first since lockdown was eased slightly last Friday, there were too many people being dispersed by police and too many people travelling to beauty spots like Loch Lomond. Ms Sturgeon said the numbers dispersed by police was five times higher the weekend than it was the weekend before. That changed this weekend. Why am I telling you that? That is because it is still there. Even with these numbers going down, there are still people getting the virus and it is ready to pounce. If we want to stop that, we must stick to these guidelines.
That’s a fair summary. I’m not sure how anybody can defend the record of Johnson’s administration during this episode. I have no idea whether the Covid-19 death toll was unavoidable by any significant magnitude or not, nor whether further/earlier/longer restrictions would’ve made that significant a difference and that this difference would’ve been a price worth paying for crashing the economy. The bottom line is that whatever Johnson was trying to achieve, I don’t think he’s done it. Of course, we should do whatever we can to protect those most vulnerable during this period, but I still have the sense that the vast majority of us could’ve continued doing Our Thang without that much trouble, so maybe ‘next time’ we should have a plan that locks down the most vulnerable and allows the rest of us to prevent the economy from going tits up. Note to my fellow Right-of-Centres on here: I firmly believe I can call it as I see it without betraying my political leanings. If somebody’s done ****, then they’ve done **** irrespective of what rosette they’ve got pinned to their foreskin.
It's so frustrating to be English at the moment. Sturgeon has been very clear throughout and now she's acknowledging that some people are acting like dicks whereas our idiot Government still think their small incremental changes haven't resulted in lockdown crumbling to dust.
Someone on Twitter just pointed out that Hancock presented the slides today and not one of the scientists. Evidence of the experts distancing themselves from the bullshit?
So did he deliberately fib (lie is such an ugly word....but accurate) or is he just thick. I notice that he was unable to give any figures for the world beating, and 100% functioning, test and trace system.
