they will have a better idea of what is possible given their agents will be asking around Ehab's got a master plan where he tries to reduce wages as much as possible so you can't blame players for looking after their own best interests
How many championship clubs will take them? Lichaj a slight possibility if a club is desperate, Kingsley no chance, Irvine no chance. Maddison who gives a **** as he clearly didn't **** em all.
Irvine may go back to Oz, he will easily get a championship club. Lichaj may go back to the US snd will ger a championship club also.
Put Irvine in a settled club, different manager, he'll be a different player, maybe even Kingsley aswell. Lichaj'll get a gig because he's experienced and not too bad a player.
James Smailes taking a pop at Lichaj... Out of contract at the end of this month, the hope was Lichaj would agree a short-term deal to allow him to feature for the remaining nine games as City scrap for their Championship lives. Lichaj saw it differently, again, as is his right. But should we expect more from the captain, from a leader of a side in such a precarious position? I think so, others will no doubt disagree. It’s a decision which is difficult to swallow. Lichaj must protect himself and his best interests, that’s the argument to be made and it’s true football is a cut-throat business that chews up and spits out players at an alarming rate. It doesn’t make this decision any more palatable. If City were mid-table with nothing to play for Lichaj’s decision would bring with it less anger or resentment from some supporters. Perhaps the mistake was to hope for more. Taking to social media last night Lichaj said: “It has been a pleasure and honour to play for Hull City. Thank you for making me and my family feel welcome. All the best to the boys for the rest of the season.” For many the words were hollow. It seems O Captain! My ex-Captain! would be more fitting. Perhaps Abraham Lincoln summed it up best himself in his most famous speech in Gettysburg. To quote another of Lichaj’s countrymen, Lincoln famously said: “The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here.” Lichaj’s decision will sour for many the time spent at the club of a likeable family man for which nobody wishes ill. The hope is he goes on to have success elsewhere, but the timing of this exit still doesn’t sit well. Rightly or wrongly, more is expected of a club captain. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spo...HKFMfQO1UKpwhYqB14fCbHVr5HNXPKILCcxoT5h-1xdQo
None of them will struggle to find a club. Irvine is a good player, as is Lichaj. I reckon Lichaj will go back to the US, he's still at an age where he can get into the national team and the wages will be far greater in the US than in the Championship.
A good article ruined by the hope is he goes on to have success elsewhere!!! GTF I hope no one picks him up and hes left kicking his heels.
I'm same, when they're gone, they're gone - if they've left in **** circumstances? They're REALLY gone - **** 'em.
That was my thought also, they both must have some options as you don't do what they have done without something already arranged.
But surely you would at least sign for the last 9 games give you a chance to look for something, rather than jump ship immediately.
no because players are scared about getting injured without having a long term contract to ease the pain.
Players not scared of getting injured... Jon Toral Kevin Stewart Dan Batty Angus MacDonald Robbie McKenzie Will Mannion Josh Bowler Matthew Pennington Herbie Kane Players who are scared of getting injured... Eric Lichaj Jackson Irvine Ironically, the two who are apparently scared of getting injured are rarely ever out injured, but two of those who aren't worried about getting injured, have barely made it through a month without injury since we signed them (I've ignored Kingsley and Maddison, as I don't think there was actually a serious attempt to keep them). I don't think fear of injury is a major factor here, I think it's a secondary issue, with the terms offered being the main factor.
Players doing the right thing .. Jon Toral Kevin Stewart Dan Batty Angus MacDonald Robbie McKenzie Will Mannion Josh Bowler Matthew Pennington Herbie Kane Captain and Vice Captain ****ing over team mates and fans, with no loyalty, with questionnable morals, acting like mercany twats....... I don't think fear of injury is a major factor here, it's that they think it's ok to act like twats.
While I take your point in some regards, you have missed the point that some of the players have contracts with their parent clubs and Eric Lichaj had not played for the club since 8 February and was due to miss the rest of the season. Obviously, if the club had offered them good terms and they had signed they wouldn't have the risk of injury without a contract to consider. Ehab pissing players off should never be discounted though.
**** those players. What would happen to patients if NHS workers decided not to go to work for fear of catching Covid19? Irvine and Lichaj have gone well down in my estimation - **** them and any other footballer that ****s off their club, team mates and fans by not playing to the end of the season. It’s a disgrace.
Andy King has been released by Leicester after 16 years and 384 appearances (10th highest of all time). He's currently on loan at Huddersfield and has agreed to play the rest of the season, because unlike our pair from the colonies, he's not a fanny.
