    Quite right mate, totally agree

Cassius Clay was worshipped by white people all over the world, and he used to rip the piss out of us ...

.... I was one of those people and I'm not that interested in boxing, even me Mam used to watch his fights and she hates the sport.

He championed the cause of equality and fought against prejudice with humour and honesty.

I have to be honest, none of my family are prejudiced and neither are my friends. I wouldn't have one who was.

I just don't see that much prejudice other than on TV, so it's difficult for me to appreciate how things are for some people.

Hmmm, really sorry Dave but this came over a little OTT for me.

I've had people 'nudge', and worse, when I've walked into bars abroad, even in this country. Walk into some village pubs in West Wales and you'd think you'd forgotten to put your trousers on. In the wilds of Sicily old men spat on the floor when Mrs Smug walked into a bar with shorts on.
    (Not just shorts BTW!)

I've had store detectives follow me if I've gone in at lunchtime while I've been doing rough outside work.

But I just laugh at it all because that's life and it'll never change, we all judge books by their cover and we'd be lying if we said we didn't.

Perhaps Robbie Earle, who wants discussions and debate, should be asking black youths why they've created an atmosphere whereby women will actually cross the road to avoid them.

What exactly is he complaining about and what does he want these women to do? Would he be complaining if black women cross the road to avoid skinheads with St George t-shirt?

    Just a thought.

My goodness Smug it never occurred to me you had all these experiences. I bet it's exactly the same as having dark skin.

Yet another pointless response on a serious subject.

You're an idiot who follows me from thread to thread claiming I'm stalking you.

What Robbie Earle is doing, imo, is automatically thinking people nudging each other are being racist ...

... it could just as easily be two gay men who fancy him or thinking 'Wow, it's that Robbie Earle guy off the TV. And, if he gets these hateful nudges, walking into a bar with 'a hoodie and sweats' perhaps he should think about what he's doing.

Watch all the hold ups, on Police CCTV clips, and that's exactly what the criminals are wearing.

Sometimes you have to think a little more about your own actions instead of condemning other people.

I'm quite sure I'd get a few nudges walking into the Strawberry in a Sunderland top which is why I choose not to do it. If I got any bother it would be partly to do with my own actions. Of course you should be able to dress however you want but this isn't Fantasy Island we're living on.

Twisty twisty moany moany poor little smug - you have been trolling my posts but nvm ...
And hey, just a thought, why don't you place all of your attention to what I have just stated here

You don't get my post? Let me make it clear:
"I've had people 'nudge', and worse, when I've walked into bars abroad, even in this country. Walk into some village pubs in West Wales and you'd think you'd forgotten to put your trousers on. In the wilds of Sicily old men spat on the floor when Mrs Smug walked into a bar with shorts on.

"I've had store detectives clock me if I've gone in at lunchtime while I've been doing rough outside work."

    - In the context of BLM and bended knees, how is this relevant?

In the context of the post from @Dave_39, that I was responding to, it couldn't be any more relevant <laugh>

Are you deliberately acting thick ...

... or is no acting necessary?

Just seen a trailer for 'The school that tried to end racism'.

    FFS <laugh>

An 11 year old looked woefully into the camera and said, 'That was the most emotionally draining thing I've ever done'.

    As opposed to what ...

... giving up playing with worms, learning to tie your own shoes, noticing girls have breasts?

All of a sudden the BLM momentum seems to have left the UK.

I'd imagine that the protestors have looked at the hysteria, riots, criminal damage and balanced it against the actual reality of what they're protesting about. Of course there are racists, but this country is pretty decent on the whole. Of course you can pick out statistics and stories, but the terrible scenes of disorder and damage don't tally with that. Anyone looking in from Russia would think that Britain must be awash with overt racism and persecution.

The protestors are looking like Friday night drunks who wake up on Saturday morning, shake their heads and think 'oops'.

Attacking police, damaging property and scaring the horses might be exciting, but it looks disproportionate and, ultimately, counter productive.

I also believe that people will look back at the PL players knee bending, fist clenching, BLM shirt wearing and think that it was just a tad OTT.

Divisions aren't healed with hysteria, gestures and aggression, they're healed with discussion, balance and reason. For ordinary people looking in from the outside, they need to be able to join up the dots. When they see British police being attacked because of the death of an active American criminal it doesn't quite gel, and the protesters argument fails.

Many people automatically believed that it was a racially motivated attack when it might just as easily be a rotten police officer panicking and overreacting ...

... Or he may just be a non-discriminatory bully who should be locked up.

Of course the police force, in every country, should be rigorously monitored but let's not *tar everyone with the same brush.

(*Apologies, in advance, if that's a racist term from 300 years ago.)

Just heard on the news that theres been more trouble in London, this time in Notting Hill following yeterdays scenes in Brixton. Just who is organising these street parties, that's what I would like to know. They seem to be quite large gatherings and those responsible should be identified and prosecuted, appropriately. Also note that Rebecca Long Bailey has paid the price today, bit over the top by Sir Keir, street parties, or maybe be right wing parties to follow.

22 police officers injured in Brixton ...

... more examples of police brutality.

What a load of absolute bollocks. The only bit I agree with you on is that most people who support BLM were non-violent and felt that the (very small amount in relative terms) of violence was not good because it was obvious that a bunch of people would pretend that it represented the vast majority of peaceful protestors.

The rest of it is absolute ****e and based on your own opinion that is utterly unqualified. You aren't in BLM so you can't give us some insight into the psyche of them. You think it's over because you don't agree, and you want it to be over.

    It's all very sad this.
The people who say 'I'm not racist but' ... (but you are).
'I don't consider myself racist but' ... (well you should).
'Black lives matter implies white lives don't matter' is something only a racist idiot would think.
'Look at the nasty black people having parties and hurting the nice white police'. This has more to do with idiots being idiots.
Plenty of white idiots having beach parties yesterday.
'We all suffer from racism'. Yeah, but I'm glad I was born white.
The BLM movement is about black lives mattering less than white lives in the western world. Institutional racism.
We have made huge strides over the last 50 years, but everyone should support this movement and bit by bit we'll crush the sort of hypocrisy I've read on this thread.
That's my lot. I know certain people must have the last word. So off you go.

Is this bothering you more than I think It should because you’re a black lad yourself and you’ve suffered from racism?

    I’m not racist, but.....
I believe that there should be a much stricter, points based immigration structure.
I believe that every foreigner who commits murder, or an accumulation of serious crimes should be deported.
    No mention of colour.
If that makes me racist, I must be?
