This is an awful time to play them... I can't see us getting anything out of this one unfortunately, they have been creating so many chances recently
On JWP's penalty, that was the first time I really remember him looking nervous in the build up. He was breathing really hard and then went for far too much power.
But Man City didn't have anything to play for and had more important games either side. Man United really need to keep winning to get Champions League. Sadly it looks like Leicester will miss out.
United will be another good test for us so lets enjoy it. Personally I don't think a CB paring of Stephens & Bednarek is strong enough for us to be in the pack hunting for that 7th European spot. Yet I'd have a tough job arguing that after the City game - United are the most in form team in the league and playing the best football - lets see how we cope
I’m looking forward to Luke Shaw being caught out of position when KWP and Armstrong bomb forward, and Ings and Adams pulling Maguire and Lindelöf all over the place. Obviously we have a battle on our hands in midfield but when you look at how we shut City down Man U are exactly the type of side we play well against. Ralph’s biggest problem in the close season will be finding ways of unlocking the Burnleys and West Hams of the league, because they bring out the worst in us. Whatever happens, it should be a cracker. Looking forward to grabbing yet another OT win.
I can see why you took the bet, but they still got Chelsea, Leicester,Everton and then us....mind you 7 points might be a stretch.
Yeah I think we'll struggle at home to Brighton though. If either they win or we don't then he can have it from Tuesday morning. Edit - Actually he might have to wait till I've served my other one.
Yay. Thanks Lawro, I thought we might struggle personally but Lawro's certain we will. Therefore I predict 0 - 1
Lawro has said in the past that he has a good friend who is a Saints’ fan and he likes to wind him up.
Expecting to lose, intending to enjoy it, whatever, as it is a good challenge for us and we’re playing well They have 3 goal scorers at the moment (4 if you include Bruno) and we only have one (2 if Che fancies starting now) We played narrow v City who want to go through the middle, stopped Everton scoring from crosses and now play a team that does both Ralph will be looking forward to the challenge
If he puts it 6 inches lower we celebrate and talk about his technique being on Lambert’s level and an unstoppable pen. 6 inches is a big measurement or so I’m told.
