Pygmies v Giants Nigel Pearson is close to pulling off another great escape. It is so close players, fans and staff can taste it but we all know it is no where near close enough to fully embrace it. The fat lady isn't even close to singing yet and games are running out. Watford face Newcastle, West Ham, Manchester City then Arsenal in the struggle that is this survival slog. Pearson has called for Watford to be calm and focused - https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/18572828.nigel-pearson-wants-watford-remain-calm-focused/ and apparently has no new injury worries - incredible given our record.Keeping an eye on other teams in the mire: Norwich host West Ham at the same time Sat as our kick off 12:30pm The Hornest have a chance of putting more pressure on the teams in the drop zone with what would be an important win against Newcastle as: Aston Villa 14:15 Crystal Palace and then AFC Bournemouth 19:00 Leicester City in some of Sunday's games. One thing for sure, we are in the mire and can't be relying on other results - it is in our own hands. (Well, the players' feet!) A win Saturday would be so valuable that if I were the Pozzos, I would be putting holiday agents on the phones to the Newcastle players now to make sure their minds are truly on the beach. Nevertheless, the Geordy Bruce will want to put his teams last game well and truly to bed. ¡¡S.O.S Save Our Season!! ¡¡COYH COYH COYH!! ENJOY THE GAME (If you can endure the pressure!)
I'd say so, or something very similar with max two changes. And indeed, a WIN in any possible way will do the trick!
Newcastle rested players against City. There may be trouble ahead. Must get something out of this match.
Agreeed.... I wonder will he persist with TD up front on his own...nothing personal... I just wish we had a bit more up front.....
Problems ahead - Mark Lawrenson says "Newcastle won't get battered again" - predicts 2-0 to us. Anyone know what his tipping record is like this season?
Still not sure of the 6:30am kick off here, but guess I will try to raise from the dead like Watford themselves and listen to it in bed.
A win for us means Muff have to get 2 wins from 4 games and Villa 7 points from 4 games. Things would look better.
By this time next week we could be safe .. If not then it will be squeaky bum time as as won't get anything v Man City ( Bournemouth have them too fortunately) and Arsenal.
Apparently its free..... do you know if it is on a sky tv channel or a freeview channel? I am shed painting this morning under orders.... so will only be free just before kick off.....
