Alright lads, Newcastle fan here. It's sad to see another legend gone, Big Jack hailed from Geordieland along with Norman, they must have made one hell of a defence in those great Leeds teams of the 60s and 70s. I hope you get promoted, both of our teams have had some great games in the past. Best wishes lads.
See ya next season hopefully. Did you know Jack Charlton was related to Newcastle legend Jackie Milburn on his mother's side? Quite a few of the Milburn family turned out for Leeds.
I have never been a Leeds supporter but have to say I was a Leeds fan of that team shown on page one of this thread. What a team they were and probably years in advance of any other at the time. I remember vividly as if yesterday listening to the FA Cup final in 1970 whilst serving on a Survey ship at sea. Leeds v Chelsea and it was one of those ouch matches even to just listen to. The replay wasn't much different. To say it was brutal was an understatement. It is such a shame that this year has seen so many of them go. A year in which your club is likely to be promoted back to where they truly belong at last and they have missed it. He may not have been the greatest footballer in his family even but he was definitely a great man. Condolences to the club and his family.
The ITV Tribute Programme is included on my website link. I'm honoured to have been asked to take part and give my own tibute to Big Jack. http://www.followmeandleedsunited.co.uk/rip-big-jack-10th-july-2020-including-itv-tribute-programme
Thanks a mill for that Heidi. Wonderful tribute. We've had literally dozens of tributes over here to the great man over the last few days. One of the radio stations ran a four hour tribute on Saturday. He made a huge impact in Ireland in so many ways, all good
