Some times sensible you have to accept that their are other points of view other than your own... neither is 100% right or wrong....neither view can be set in concrete....I don't think any of our black friends would recognize the picture your trying to paint of me.

Lets hope soon we just can get back to the football....I think another week and things will start happening.....the rumour mill has thrown up some interesting names that they think is on Ryan Lowe's shopping list.

Hardie, Bakinson, Cooper....plus....Jordan Rossiter, Otis Khan, Matty Foulds, Kalvin Kalala, Lloyd Jones, Brett Pitman, Panutche Camara and Joseph Mills are all being talked about on other web sites.

I don't have to accept anything of the sort and for you to say "our black friends" is laudable. I am 100% certain that any black person would consider you racist. This is the year 2020 not 1950 and what might have been considered acceptable by white people then is not acceptable now by any person of any colour. It never was acceptable from a black persons point of view they just didn't have the platform then to say so. I will use the word in full instead of messing around. The word nigger is a derogatory term for a black person no matter how many other definitions there may have once been. It is similar to the word gay which is a term for homosexual people now and to say it is stolen from the definition of a happy person is not what anyone takes as it's meaning now. It is not being PC it is what people generally understand and accept as the meaning. The last time you used the word nigger or gay in any other context other than race or gender was never and you know it. I am not painting you as anything you are doing a great job of that all by yourself. You may be better off changing the subject.

Sensible...it's obviously impossible to discuss this with you...and for you to say that your a 100% certain that any black person would consider me racist just shows how closed your mind is to discussion on the subject.....for you always to be right must be quite a gift or burden. Answering anymore of your comments is not going to solve anything ...so end of subject.....to live in such a black and white world (no pun intended) must make life very hard for you.....I will not continue having to explain myself when there is no understanding from you of what I'm trying to say.

I have no problem whatsoever living in my world as you put it. I am 100% certain that any black person would consider you racist because of the way you express yourself. I understand perfectly what you are trying to say by the way that you say it. If you don't mean it that way then you should make a note to self "must do better" because my definition is exactly how it comes across. You cannot simply say others are just being PC as an excuse for misinterpretation. I repeat and will continue to repeat that this is the year 2020 not 1950 and what you say matters. My opinion does not come from any desire to always be right it comes from your previous and current posts and the way you express yourself. If you object to being called out for making racist comments then stop making them.

I said I wouldn't comment anymore...but I've just read an article in today's newspaper that I will share...it's about a lecturer who has just been sacked for racism.

University Lecturer claims he is victim of "woke" culture after comments about positive stereotypes.

A LECTURER was sacked for saying "Jewish people are the cleverest in the world" after he failed to convince a tribunal that his comments were not offensive because they were "positive".

Stephen Lamonby, 73, a lecturer at Solent University in Southampton, also said that "Germans are good at engineering".

The Bristol tribunal heard that the remarks were made in a meeting with Dr Janet Bonar, his course leader, in the university canteen in March 2019.

Mr Lamonby, who worked at Solent as a part-time associate lecturer for six years, told his colleague people from different countries were good at certain subjects due to "high exposure".

Germans made good engineers because they were "exposed to a high level of industry from an early stage in their lives", he told his colleague..... Dr Bonar, an engineering lecture, said she had a degree in physics and Lamonby reacted by saying Jewish people had " a particular gift" for the subject. He then asked Dr Bonar if she was Jewish, to which she took offence and shouted that he was racist. He said: " I believe the Jewish are the cleverest people in the world. They are much maligned because of it. I asked if you were Jewish because of your ability with maths/physics et cetera".

After an investigation was launched, Mr Lamonby defended his comments and gave another example of "high exposure" - namely Eskimos being good at fishing.

Mr Lamonby said he was "shocked" by Dr Bonar's reaction, adding: "My comments were simply stating that, arising from my lifetime of experience, I have come to believe that certain nationalities have developed a higher level of skill in some areas.

"This is directly related to the level of exposure to criteria such as industry and education....it is simply a view that reflects environmental privileges.

During a final disciplinary hearing he admitted he had "been clumsy" in his language ans apologised. But he continued to make "inappropriate" comments, including that Jews have "neurological differences". Julie Hall, the university vice-chancellor, who chaired the hearing, said Mr Lamonby did not understand that what he said was offensive and he was dismissed for gross misconduct.

The tribunal, held in Bristol, said the university had a duty to its "multicultural, predominantly young student body" to protect them from potential racism and dismissed the claims of unfair dismissal and breach of contract. Judge C H O'Rourke said: "while Mr Lamonby sought to argue that his stereotyping (which it was) was positive, such 'positivity' is nonetheless potentially offensive to the recipient.

"A Jew told they are good at physics ...because they are a Jew...may well consider that as demeaning their personal intellectual ability/hard work".

Mr Lamonby said he would appeal, claiming he was a victim of "woke" culture and that the universities are "totally obsessed with racism"..:. He said: "Free speech is totally dead in universities.

    Daily Telegraph...22/07/2020.

I would agree that because of centuries of persecution Jews have developed the ability to do well in varies professions.
I would agree that Germany is good at engineering.
I would also agree that Eskimos are good at fishing...they have enough practise.

I would also question that Dr Janet Bonar's reaction made me think that she had a "thing" about Jews....just seemed a bit over the top.

None of what he said....was in front of students...but to a fellow lecturer in the canteen.

It's not about the voting Plym, it's about spreading false information and bogus stories on social media, often targeted on susceptible minds by using browsing data for improper purposes. That's EXACTLY what Dominic Cummings did for the Leave campaign by the way.

it's a slippery slope saying one group are the cleverest because it must mean another group are the dumbest. Only a fool would make that sort of remark.

In fact, average success in exams and career for any group are far more conditioned by the social and family values and the economic circumstances of that group than any intrinsic physical difference. Nurture not nature and we need to develop equality of opportunity for all.

My wife and I have said quite often that many non-white parents that we know, make sure that their off spring really knuckle down to their studies.

Two of the leading schools around Orpington are St Olaves ..(boys) and Newstead Woods (girls)....both generally riding high in national pass mark leagues.

One Nigerian family we know had four sons who all past the tests for St Olaves and got in.....parents try to get their sons into this school from miles away....one such ...was a well known Labour Minister (female) who made the national press because she got her son in... instead of sending him to the local grammer or comprehensive.

Newstead Woods girls school has a high Asian intake....generally Indian/Sri Lankan.....you've only got to be at the local bus stop to notice this....all these kids work hard.

Both these schools do well each year getting pupils into Oxbridge colleges.

The present Tory Government has its fair share of Asian related cabinet ministers.

How the mighty are fallen. Do you remember the then PAFC chairman (possibly Paul Stapleton,) going to Charlton and saying they were our model of successful financial rectitude?

As I've said before my son and grandson are season ticket holders....and have been watching all games free online since the shut down.

Charlton have in recent seasons been going through the wringer with owners and transfer bans....plus their top goalscorer Lyle Taylor deciding not to play anymore....because he didn't want to jeopardize his chance of a lucrative transfer.....doubt that he walks around S London without a bodyguard these days.

I used to take my son and his mate (about 9 at the time) down the Valley now and again....they used to spend more time running up and down that hugh embankment than watching the game.

Then the years of playing at Crystal Palace and I think West Ham....whilst their old ground fell apart and the playing surface turning into scrubland with trees growing on it.

Then the return and the building of a magnificent stadium (27,000) and the years in the Premiership etc, etc.

Yes they would of been a club to copy around the year 2000.....bussing in hundreds of fans from all over Kent and elsewhere....between 15 to 20 coaches parked on the main road nearby as you walked to the stadium.....they had some good years following those desperately sad years when Alan Curbishley became their saviour.

With all the space you have out there the bottom of your garden is probably a couple of miles away from your front door. I've seen it in the movies.

Have we been here before ?

Swiss prosecutors have launched legal proceedings against FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

It is in relation to an alleged secret meeting the head of world football's governing body held with the Swiss attorney general Michael Lauber.

Lauber last week offered to resign after a court said he covered up the meeting and lied to supervisors during an investigation by his office into corruption surrounding FIFA.......Both have denied any wrong doing.

It just doesn't end with FIFA does it....probably to do with the next hush money handout regarding the next World Cup fiddle.... being played in an oil rich Arab country.....that probably needs £billions for air conditioned stadiums alone.....using slave labour....which will be cocking up half the world's league seasons.

They haven't just denied any wrong doing... this was a meeting between the FIFA President and the Swiss Attorney General regarding corruption in world football. Apparently neither of them can remember what was said, so that's alright then.

How cushy can life get....Mesut Ozil is on £350,000 PER WEEK at Arsenal.....hasn't played since before the shut down and was given permission to go to Turkey during the shutdown and he is still there.

Arsenal are keen to move him on (no surprise there then) but Ozil's agent says that he wants to see the rest of his contract out.....so that's another year....that'll be another ...£18,200,000 in the bank then.....how many Div 2 clubs would that help to stay afloat.......this is what is wrong with football and Sky's bottomless pit payouts.

No club will ever come in to buy him if that's the weekly money he expects....been a long time since he played to his best level....I doubt if he could do a good job for Argyle anymore and probably not match fit these days.
