Good Morning. It's Friday 21st August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds in advanced talks to bring Rodrigo to Elland Road Leeds are locked in advanced talks with Valencia about bringing Spanish International Rodrigo to Elland Road. Valencia are believed to be looking to cash in on some of their top stars to raise much-needed funds, and have slapped a 30m price tag on the former Flamengo youth player. Leeds will be hoping that they can secure Rodrigo's services for less, but as time ticks on, Leeds need for a striker becomes more desperate. Rodrigo has been capped 22-times for Spain. please log in to view this image Leao's on Bielsa's hit list Leeds are also holding talks with AC Milan regarding their highly rated youngster Prising Leao, 21. The Portugal U21 International has been in devastating form since lockdown, netting four times. The Serie A giants have high hopes for Leao, so prizing him away will not be an easy rask. He scored six league goals from 33 matches since his arrival from Lille last Summer for 20m. Milan would not accept less than the fee they paid for Leao for the versatile forward, who can spearhead the attack or operate on the left or right flanks. please log in to view this image Former England Ace: White - the deal will get done Former England forward, now Soccer pundit Kevin Phillips has been speaking to the media about Ben White's likely destination. The former Saints academy players believes that the 23yo central defender will end up at Leeds, as that it White's preferred intention. "I do actually think he’ll end up at Leeds," "I think nowadays the players have the power and I think he’ll push it because it seems that he wants to go there. "He’s turned down, I gather, two or three contract offers from Brighton, so that suggests that he does want to go and move on. "Having just spent a successful season at Leeds, he knows what a huge club they are. "We all know that when supporters are allowed back in the stadium, it’s an amazing place to go and play football. "Reading between the lines, I believe the player will try and push the move through. "Leeds really want the player. The deal will get done, it’s just how it gets done. I firmly believe the lad will end up at Leeds." Bookies also believe that West Yorkshire will be the most likely destination for the 23yo. For all their huffing and puffing during the season, (and sending scouts to see him every game), Liverpool have not made any attempt to prize the seagull away from the Amex Stadium. Perhaps they know that White is pushing for a move back to Leeds? please log in to view this image
Good morning, The Rodrigo link excites me. If we were going to spend 40 million on two players I would rather have Rodrigo and Koch than White and a cheaper winger/forward. That said White's value is more likely to rise than Rodrigo's or Koch's.
Morning all Rodrigo has come out of left field but Sky Italy journo knows his onions, and with Valencia needing cash love that Radz sniffs out clubs in trouble. Rodrigo has never been prolific but works his socks off defending from the front and laying on plenty of assists. Its also possible that this is just paper talk again, but I reckon the club are close to a couple of signings and I do hope one is Koch or Foyth
Morning all... Kinnear was on Sky yesterday, he said White is obviously wanted and it’s proving very difficult in signing him, we also have to respect he is a Brighton player. He said we have 2-3 alternative defenders we can go for and talks are very advanced if we fail to get White... Good to hear we have the alternative options, I wish we’d get one plus White or two and forget White myself but sounds like we’re only going to be signing one CB
Think the White tranny is dead and buried unless he forces it today. White has refused 3 new contract offers and Leeds have put in a 3rd and final bid of £25m plus add ons. Brighton have again rejected it so we can now move for our alternate CB signing. Brighton may decide to throw White into the U23s rather than sell him and remember hes only on £5k per week and has another 2 years on his existing contract. No other offers have come in for White so poor old Ben has a tough choice to make because refusing a contract and asking to leave sometimes doesn't go down well for a player. If he requests to leave too late we have already bought Koch for example and will not pay another £25m for another player, and if nobody else wants him he is stuck and goosed, maybe even as a trouble maker?
The only trouble makers are Brighton IMO. But I do understand their stance. I know I see this whole sorry saga through white(no pun intended) tinted glasses, but Brighton should take the 25 million and move on.
It's a shame BHA can't get over Clough choosing us over them all those years ago. To be honest I wish he hadn't.
I agree Eric, although I've always wondered if he had taken the job with a different attitude and if Taylor had joined with him would things have been different.
Good Morning to Matt AND co from a wet Bardsey Seeing the fixture of Liverpool reminded me that we played our first game in the old first division .It was against Liverpool who were champions .The result was Leeds 4 Liverpool 2 and a great game it was too It looks like Koch and with Cabral having covid we shall have to look elsewhere
What with Ryan Kent as well as White, is there any chance we could bid for someone who is actually for sale.
The quality of players who are for sale is almost always going to be lower - their clubs are letting them go for a reason. Doesn’t mean there aren’t bargains to be found, but generally if you want the best players, their current clubs aren’t going to be keen on selling. Just the way it works!
Nice we are looking at the Spanish market, players with the high quality technique I admire Find another Pablo & we'll be laughing
