To be fair, we will not come up against many worse midfields than Stoke today, even Obi 1 was shown the force by Bakinson.

Weimann was good today and weighed in with a goal, but he will be found out against better teams, when we will need to pick specialist midfielders IMHO.

You do realise that Diedhiou was voted player of the year last season by the fans?
Messengo is young and I believe will become a good player.

Neither has cut it for me and I would prefer us to choose other options. Anyway let's stay on the Mpositive because it may take us somewhere.

I never rated Massengo - but I always hope to be proved wrong and if I am I’d be delighted.
Weimann has a superb engine and doesn’t seem to tire. When we are playing a pressing game that’s really effective because the opposition have him on them straight away like a little terrier.
His finishing and passing leave room for improvement but he proved himself very useful today. MOTM split 3 ways for me between Bakinson, Weimann and Moore.
Special mention also due to Wells too for a very well taken goal.
Great team effort all round - well done !!!

I agree about Massengo but I now believe he needs a loan away to play regularly.

As for Diedhiou let's be honest, there wasn't many candidates for player of the season last year.

Would like to see him loaned to Plymouth, they seem to always send them back better players.
I sort of agree with you regarding not much choice. It’s the constant digs of him

Fammy came with the expectation of a big presence up front who would compete, and win, those tasty choices in the attacking third of the pitch. Is there any possibility of him forming a partnership with a couple of others to strike fear in to our opponents because TBH I haven't seen it during his tenure? I feel he has been given ample opportunity (possibly at the expense of others) to prove his worth but has fallen way short of that mandate. Perhaps the time has come for him, and us, to explore new pastures. Massengo is a similar issue but the one thing in his favour is his age and perhaps he will come good with a loan out where he can become the big fish and return better for the experience.

My memory is fading ROD but on your point about Plymouth being a good place to get some game time I have forgotten who it was that either came from down there and went on to much higher ground after a spell with us.- but who was it? He also played at Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace.

    Inver,
    We have loaned Plymouth in the past;
    Joe Bryan
    Bobby Reid
    Zak Vyner
    Tyreeq Bakinson

the guy you’re talking about is Yannick Bolaise who we bought from them.

    That was a fantastic performance.

    where do you start.

Martin up top makes us tick what a player immense. What a ball for Wells to score.

    Moore outstanding
    Bakinson outstanding
    Mawson outstanding
    Weimann excellent

It is early doors but exciting times ahead.

Humble pie from me reference DH.Keep this up and the unthinkable may come true.
Make no mistake there will not be many side that beat Stoke on their pitch by 2-0.

Fantastic win -Three points and clean sheet.

Well done Dean Holden and all the guys, a very very impressive start to the season.

Can we go one better and beat Villa ? I hope so, although I'd be happier to leave the LC run behind and beat Sheffield Wednesday in the league instead.

We're quite renowned for starting a season well, normally RR starts dusting his "out banners" off around Christmas time <laugh><laugh>
