It's nuts. My wife phoned the GP yesterday to complain about her lack of communication from the Cardiology department. The GP confirmed she was aware of them not doing appointments, even though she referred my wife two months ago. The GP then asked her " so what do you me to do?" FFS - the wife went a bit nuts i think, and surprise surprise the Cardiology phoned her within two hours with an appointment next week. It's disgusting that it had to come to this - as a nurse who's been in the NHS for 25 years my wife is horrified at what is going on. I feel for the people who really need help and are too afraid to speak up for themselves...
He's keeping schools and creches open which is massive as it means millions of people don't have to juggle work and childcare. Essentially this lock-down involves shutting all bars/restaurants, those who can working from home and we need a document if we leave home proving we have left either for work, a doctors appointment or an hours worth of exercise within 1 km of home. It won't be popular but will be far less damaging than a complete, full lock-down which some were fearing.
I sympathise a lot SM but I have to ask the question, why didn't you go straight to your local MP or member of the Scottish Parliament and complain to them? If it was me, I would have the local media involved and all political parties to embarrass the authorities to take action.
Yes I heard. that must be hard for some to have to go back to the documents but if it saves lives then we shouldn't really moan. Was I correct that he said mid December as that is 6 weeks?
If Dildo was in charge of the system here for booking a one hour exercise period you'd probably have to wait two weeks to get a slot, probably 3.00 am...
Exactly the same with my practice. It’s pathetic. If you have the willingness and nous to make a fuss you have a chance of getting treated, by causing stress to everyone involved including yourself.
Yep...he implied that he is aiming to go for quite strict rules now, in the hope that it will mean people can enjoy a relatively normal festive period. Can't see that happening personally, we certainly haven't booked Eurostar tickets for Christmas as per usual. No booking...fill in a form online and then download a PDF with the date and time on it in case you get stopped by the police when out.
I am due to go out to France in December... I should have been there now and also blew out a trip earlier in the year. 3 trips now so a bit gutted however It's just a holiday and I won't complain with people I'll and dying. lets hope this covid s22t goes away so we can all return to relatively normal lives? Stay safe.
Thanks. Only place I'll be staying is in our apartment...although that will be with two kids under 5 so not sure how safe it will be.
Those silly pessimists at SAGE recommended a circuit breaker lockdown in September because their projections for the second wave were, back in July, of a lower but much longer peak than the first wave, 500 deaths a day for 3 months, 85,000 more deaths overall, 356,000 hospital admissions. The actual figures are worse sooner than they expected. We will all be in tier 3 by Christmas, but more likely there will be a national lockdown before then. Leaked document published in Tory magazine The Spectator, former editor B Johnson. His days are, I suspect, numbered.
I've been waiting 6 weeks to see my Radiologist about starting my radiology had an appointment arranged for Monday, just received an email telling me it's now a telephone consultation, they told me face to face my prostate cancer had worsened why cant they face me to tell me how we put it right
Some positive news 're the NHS I had my cataract pre op last week and was contacted yesterday with the offer of the op being done (subject to Covid test) on 10 November Not great timing with work so have rearranged to early December Just hope we don't go into a national lockdown before then and find it's postponed
I'd speak to your doctor, Peter, to see if he can't push this forward as a matter of urgency. Make a fuss, you're an important patient. Good luck
