Refereeing wasnt biased to either side it was just inconsistent , one minute a push was a foul then it wasnt , then it was. Poor display.
Already mentioned, but I think our game plan wasn’t to press as much as normal for fear of them doing a Spurs on us. I think this is why we ended up chasing shadows as they had time to pick out passes, putting us under pressure. Bloody good point though.
Would've happily taken a point beforehand, and feel quite relieved to escape with a point after the fact. Tough game against a very good side.
Bit of a below par performance tonight, but still walked away with a good point against a strong side. We aren't going to be 100% every week, especially after a couple of weeks without a game, important to pick up points even when not at our best.
Theo: “There’s a 15 year gap between my previous two Southampton goals.” Shane: “I wish I was that prolific.”
JWP seemed to tire tonight and didn’t quite look his usual sharpness. Not saying he had a bad game, I just think he didn’t have his usual impact. Hopefully some of that down to Wolves and not the effects of all the efforts of the last 47 games on the bounce.
Wolves packed the middle and we struggled to play through the lines but were not creating much first half. At 1-0 we looked like we could win it and Walcott had the chance to put us out of sight after a fabulous Adams through ball. Wolves really went for it with four forwards and we were over run, so was happy with a point. We're still fifth and I have high hopes for the Man U game.
