    Can’t help but feel he will have been nowhere near our first choice. Glad they are sticking with the DoF model but reckon we will have missed out on Poyet and Cowley because of it. Was hoping we would end up with something better like.

    I cannot see Danny Cowley turning down the biggest job he's ever likely to get just because there will be a Sporting Director in place. FWIW I don't think he's even in the running - the fact he started hawking his own name for the job in the press a couple of days ago says it all
