Leeds United v Burnley Sunday 27th December 12:00| Elland Road Leeds skipper Liam Cooper (abdominal strain) who miss the Christmas showdown when Burnley come to Elland Road this Sunday for a lunchtime kick off. Fortunately for the Whites Diego Llorente is fit, and looks set to start only his second match of his short Elland Road tenure. The Spanish International got thrown in at the deep end at Stamford Bridge after just 5 minutes when Robin Koch was injured. Even though he was not match fit at the time, his stats show what a shrewd purchase the former Real Sociedad player is. Llorente completed 100% of his sliding tackles against Frank Lampard’s side and won 80% of his aerial duels. His passing success for club and Country averages 90%. Not bad for a player who wasn't fully fit!!! It is expected that former Ajax youngster Pascal Struijk will partner Llorente at centre back allowing Ayling to return to his more familiar role bombing up and down the right wing. Both Phillips and Klich are a yellow card away from a one game ban, though its hard to see Bielsa dropping either player as a result. Burnley wingers Dwight McNeil and Robbie Brady both face late fitness tests after picking up respective groin and hamstring knocks. (Brady expected to recover) Former Leeds target Matej Vydra, will miss the trip to Elland Road with a back injury, whilst long term absentee's Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Jack Cork remain sidelined. Yet again.... we need to take our chances and we win comfortably. We will dominate posession, probably up to around 70%. We need to find the small gaps in between people. We have to pass the ball better than we have done recently and have to defend set pieces alot better. I think we'll probably win by a couple of goals but it might take Hernandez off the bench to make the difference. It's a bit of a 6 pointer, we can't lose as it really sucks us in to the relegation battle. Win it and we move another 3 points clear of them. Important game.
im hoping for a 3-1 win defence not quite good enough to stop them scoring, but with Llorent back i can see a nice win this game
Good afternoon all Hope your all feeling ill & with a suitable hangover You just know Woods going to score, tall & good with the head (no funny comments please ) just what our rickety defence fears the most, but hopefully we will convert a few ourselves, so i'm with Gessa on this, 3-2 Leeds.
Villa winning, but can overtake Palace with a draw tomorrow. Better still it finishes a draw and we beat Burnley!
Hope we win the match tomorrow. This is a must win match. But unfortunately we are not only leaking at the back, but we are wide open. So as much as it hurts to say it, I think we will lose 3-2
Hmmm, is this not an old Pre Match Presser of Bielsa against Wigan? It must be at least10 months old, he is even talking about Jean-Kévin Augustin
Not watched it but guessing the weather conditions may have kept the score respectable. Expected at least a 4-0. Win tomorrow and up to 11th at least for a few hours.
6 pointer and the first one if the season. We win this we go 3 points ahead of Arsenal. Crazy results happening still with Arsenal beating Chelsea, Chelsea beating us but we beat Arsenal, Newcastle slap WHU we slap Newcastle but WHU beat us, we slap Villa but Villa slap Palace who beat us.... but a win means we go half way to safety with less than half the season over. A massive boost
Apart from us not beating Arsenal I agree with your thinking, a win today would be massive, especially if Brighton and WBA could do the polite thing and lose their games.
Win the next two and we're golden. I'm expecting a performance from our lads today as that was torture watching Scum knock 6 into us.
