Despite all the doom and gloom on here we are still only 4 points off the top 6 ......

 

Problem is who will come as back up fullbacks? We can’t afford to buy and pay for real competition in every position.

 

The guys on SW seem to have decided that Ings is off, based on his performance and attitude tonight

At least we're (mostly) not that bad over here

 

Not that poor ...... just outplayed by a better team and missing some key players. We don’t have the funds to truly compete but we’ve done really well and we are competitive

 

But for all your positivity we wouldn't be on our form over the last six games

I'll be surprised if we get anyone tbh.

I still have hopes for Vokins & Valery, and won't be writing them off based on tonight.

 

If anything it makes it more likely he will stay - not going to get a big move at his age unless he gets back to his form of last season

 

Not sure why everyone is so down. It’s been a good game in atrocious conditions between two good teams. Their biggest threat has come down the flanks where we have two youngsters playing. We knew that would be a threat.

For me we beat them in the more important of the two games.

We are still a good side. A very good side.

Fair play to Arsenal, only the second team to outplay us really. The other bing Man United

Just generally though, outside of the top 6 have 8 quality defenders? We’re just unlucky 3/4 are unavailable tonight.

Not sure about Valery. Gets into crossing positions a lot but doesn’t deliver, but Vokins does.

It does seem our performances have slipped considerably without the great Dane in an attacking and defensive cintext

Even if we finish midtable we've seen real progress from this relatively young (apart from a few players) squad. There's more to come from a lot of these players. Adams, Diallo and KWP are really only just getting going in the PL and they're getting better and better. Bednarek is only 24 or 25 so he's got his prime years ahead of him. JWP is only 26. We've just had too many injuries to key players at the wrong time.

 

Don't think any of them in on their own is such an issue in itself. But having 3 of the first choice back 4 out is quite noticeable, unsurprisingly.
