Morning all, Shame we lost Cheltenham and the Lingfield racing is hardly a decent substitute but nothing we can do about that. Couple of bets at Doncaster for me today: Doncaster 2.40pm Castle Robin 10/1 each way 4 places. Ran OK in the Lanzarote Hurdle and has a good pull at the weights with Emir Sacree, likely to run well in a competitive heat. Doncaster 3.15pm Cap Du Nord 4/1 win. The Christian Williams-trained eight-year-old got the better of Canelo at Newbury in November and you could say the form was franked by Alan King’s charge winning at Wetherby over Christmas. Cap Du Nord finished second (just over 3 lengths behind) Royale Pagaille at Kempton with Double Shuffle 19 lengths back in third. Double Shuffle has won since while the novice Royale Pagaille is now as short as 15-2 for the Gold Cup. The form is there for all to see and he will be primed for this, especially as there is an outside chance he could make the Grand National. His mark needs to go up to 144/145 to get in so he would have to win this to stand a chance. Horse is improving, no reason why track won't suit and I ll be very disappointed if he doesn't go very close. Incidentally, Cap Du Nord is 66/1 ante post with bet365 for the National and that price will be gone if he wins this well. Good luck all..
Cap Du Nord for me is one to take on, as are the JP pair, so that’s the tricast sorted for you. I am with Mister Malarkey and Aye Right against the field. Former comes from a yard bang out of form and the latter will love a test on very testing ground. I hope class comes to the fore here and to me these two are the best horses in the race. Ask A Honey Bee should love conditions today and is a bet, more on the place than the win but the yards runners yesterday were very good. Keep Rolling in the first is a bet too, but he’s now shorter than he probably should be. I thought he was one to follow this season.
Lingfield 12,00 Dawn Treader 12/1 e/w 16,05 Shaqeeqa 14/1 e/w Doncaster 14,05 Miranda 5/2 15,15 Takingrisks 40/1 e/w Kempton 14,00 Vibrance 11/2
Agree with nass , cap du nord is to be opposed ( got some humble pie in case ) , but while respecting Aye Right , ive backed Boldmere at 16s last night , he’s halved in price so connections must be hopeful , he hasn’t clicked yet this season but trainers horses are running much better , over at Kempton 3 10 Something Enticing 10/3 now must have a great chance, form of his lingfield run in dec is working out v well , was backed last time , along with another horse from the yard , both didn’t fire , however the other one was out a few days ago Barshiba, made no mistake hosing up , i’m expecting Something similar today !!
Donny 2.40 Emir Sacree I get sent some from a Hendo employee, they sent this one today and it is one of their own which they dont do very often.
Morning All, lockdown boredom led to me placing bets last night after a few beers so I'm well over budget for a regulation Saturday! Main bets 3:50 - Who's in the box - chase form is 221, good win latest and previous to that was 2nd to an Irish trained handicap good thing at Wetherby. Doesn't look a strong race, but this could have room for improvement. 3:15 - Cap Du Nord looks the form horse, but has it gone up too much in the weights and odds not very appealing, so I'll side with Aye Right e/w 2:40 - Fern Hill - won at Wetherby and 2nd and 3rd have since won. Will take a chance with PP offering a free bet if 2nd, 3rd or 4th. Will also back Pats Fancy in a multiple. In football news my team Bradford City have gone from relegation candidates to unbeatable since Stuart McCall was sacked, plus have made some great signings this month and offloaded the dross. 5/4 today at home to Barrow looks huge. Myself and a few mates took 25/1 to get promoted last week after drawing against top of the table Cambridge and should have won. Good luck all
There certainly are some mad mad people in this world at present, not just Trump and the Fox News lunatics. Guy was lucky he didn't kill some of the jockeys today in a race at New Zealand's Wellington Cup meeting (apart from himself): Man risks death by running on track towards galloping horses as jockeys swerve past him (msn.com)
Sometimes horses just jump off the page at you and Bobhopeornohope has been doing that all day for me. Hopefully another one for the Ivy Grower
15:15 Doncaster - Aye Right (Really do hope this excellent and consistent chaser will put in a good run in this event. Certainly deserves to win a decent race judged on performances this season.)
