The problem is, the journalists covering transfer windows can’t win. The fans are hungry for news and the agents are also full of chatter behind the scenes to try and manipulate markets the way they want. That’s without clubs briefing journalists on players which absolutely happens. Your reporting can only reflect the information you have to hand. Very difficult to get things confirmed too because clubs won’t talk much of the time. The problem is more with fans who are so desperate for the thrill of it all that they take everything reported as fact if they like it and “fake news” or bribed reporting if they don’t. The fact is, everything reported around players moves is subject to changes and should be taken with a massive Hulk hand full of salt. We’re talking about people at the end of the day and machinations with lots of moving parts.
Tbh, whenever we’re involved in an incoming rumour, it never (rarely) materialises. Usually our business is done 95% behind closed doors & snippets only filter out at the virtual close.
Curious to see how we line up against Man U, with no Diallo, Romeu and JWP having to play right back because we look set to loan Valery Can’t see any other way than Ramsey starting.
So who do you expect to partner Jankewitz on his first start, against Pogba, Matic, Fernandez and co.? I can’t see JWP playing anywhere other than CM, which leaves Kane Ramsey as our only available full back at the moment.
They have just said on sky that he’s not entirely keen because he would have to play out of position, but didn’t he get an England call up as a LB?
Isn't Vesty supposed to be back for this? In which case Stephens could play RB. I really think we need JWP in the middle for this game, even more so if we don't have Romeu or Diallo. Edit: Oops, thought I was on the matchday thread.
Unfortunately, given recent results and the constant injury problem, this just feeds our increasing attitude of concern, in the vain hope there's a possibility of this or that happening which will help us back to form. I suspect that this window will not greatly help us and somehow we will pull through to a reasonable finish. Our early season climb gave us too much oxygen following recent seasons we rightly felt, at last, here we go!
