We surrendered 9 goals in 11 PL matches in December and January. We've surrendered 12 in 1.5 matches in February.

Well despite Ralph's upbeat pressers you can see how fragile our confidence is and Newcastle are capitalising on that. That said, I still think we can get something out of this game. They are leading courtesy of an own goal and a keeper howler. That aside it's been pretty even and the front four are playing really well. For the second half, Newcastle are running out of options. Two subs already and Maximum is limping around - can't possibly last 90 minutes. Come on Saints. We can do this.

I think this is showing just how important KWP has been for us.

 

We’ve gifted them three goals. Apart from that it’s just adapting to the conditions. Are do believe we can get something here.

 

The back five look awful, JWP and Romeu look scared at least the front four look lively but Ings looks out of form big style

 

McCarthy cocked up, but that was a total team failure as well, literally went from an attacking free kick with under a minute of the half left to conceding.

We are clearly sacrificing the game for Wolves next week!

 

We have been utterly brutal at the back. Pity as up till 3 weeks ago we'd been solid. Make no mistake about it this is a poor Newcastle outfit and they are breezing past us like we're not there and making stupid mistakes. At 2-1 I felt we were well in it. I do think we have the ability to score a couple to get back into it but our defense has more ability to concede more sadly
