Not one of my first choice long term managers. But get Nigel Pearson or someone like him. To install some passion into the players before it’s too late.
Rod he is definitely the Man for the job-but keep Ashton away from him.Good managers don’t need a clown telling them what to do.
Then there is always Pemberton who has lot's of experience in the lower leagues. It's time to eat your pride Steve and get someone who knows the route you say you want but maybe our history will scare away the person we both need. If ever there was a truly critical time in our history this is it and unless the right decisions are finally made we could end up where nobody wants us to go. A lot of supporters never understood the last 2 manager hirings so this time out there is no room for cheap options.
Jokanovic or Cook, for me. Wanted them both last summer and nothing has changed. Got to admit I was interested when SL rumoured to be wanting Gerrard as that would of put us on a media highlight and during lockdown we could of done with that.
Steve just get it done and get Nigel in for the next two games -certainly will have the majority off fans back on side. Cracking manager he has just been waiting for the right job. You absolute Beauty Mr L
Yep I've never been a fan of Pearson, not one bit really, seems like a bit of a tw@t in multiple situations. But he is EXACTLY what we need right now, and his record speaks for itself. Actually quite excited at this.
This is so very true, I think the same could be said at the appointment of Cotterill, he was what was needed at the time. I think reading some of his interviews in the Guardian especially he is more intelligent than he come across and believe that it's probably because he calls it as he sees it, something owners who are non football men do not like, there is a newspaper report about a lecture that he gave at Leicester university where he criticised the way the owner controlled the media output at Watford, ummmm now where have I heard that criticism before?
Be careful Jiffie, saying anything even slightly negative about the messiah that Steve Cotterill is to some on here won't be taken well... I said much the same last week and got accused of running down SC and trying to undermine his achievements as City boss. I see many similarities between Pearson and Cotterill, but to me, Pearson is better at a higher level.
I wouldn't and didn't, but others did when I said much the same. I was accused of undermining his achievements
I do remember being slightly underwhelmed but thought it couldn't be any worse than SoD...he became a breath of fresh air from the dross we had after GJ's departure.. He did do a brilliant job for us in League 1, nobody can deny that...
