Investing in a race that is more than twelve months away on a horse that is only 7/1. You need locking up!

One things for certain, he won’t be 4/9 in a Gold Cup.

Today reminded me not to bet in the handicaps unless you love something’s chances.

I thought the mares race was really exciting but we’ve seen an Elliot horse win on day one of Cheltenham. For a sport that’s obsessed with attracting new fans and public perception it feels like an own goal.

Bob Olinger in the Neptune and Easysland to complete ante post doubles with Shiskin

I have taken 40/1 tonight (now gone) on Defi Des Carres in the Cross Country race. I really think he could outrun his odds tomorrow. He s got quite a lot of cross country experience - have backed him each way.

You could say two Elliott horses, Galvin as well as Black Tears. Ian Ferguson would have done absolutely nothing with the horse since he went back there barring some light work. But he did break Galvin in before sending him to Cullentra and has been always involved in the horses life somehow, so a great win for him to have personally.

Hopefully sneezy can keep up Gordon's fantastic work so he can pick up the pieces of being the second best horse trainer in the world when he gets back rolling.

1;20 I really like BOB OLINGER and think this the ideal Festival race for him. He is another one who will be in many multiples and should oblige. I really hope to see Bear Ghylls run a big race for his small yard.
1:55 MONKFISH is probably regarded as the Irish banker this week and he really should oblige.
2;30 Nicky Henderson has a great record in this race and is very well represented. I like his youngster CRAIGNECHE but there are so many you could make a case for. It would be nice to see the Foxtrot horse Witness Protection run a big race for his syndicate.
3;05 What an intriguing Champion Chase. CHACUN POUR SOI is obvious but the race throws together so many conundrums. Put The Kettle On is 3/3 at the track, Politolougue is a big price for a previous winner in a race regularly won by previous winners and Nube Negra was so impressive at Christmas. Its a proper championship race.
3:40 I think LE BREUIL is just the sort to take to this discipline and has proved his class at the Festival before, he needs the favourite to have an off day but that surely happened the last day. Another Foxtrot horse here in Hogans Height and we know he can jump as he won the Grand Sefton, it is not beyond belief that he has enough improvement in him to take a hand in the finish. Some day for a small group of owners to have two representatives at the Festival with fair chances.
4:15 EMBITTERED is one of my big Festival handicap fancies. He looks well handicapped to me and is a class act. The yard are no strangers to success in handicaps at this meeting.
4:50 Outside the top two in the market this wouldnt look the best renewal. KILCRUIT and Sir Gerhard have a horse in their formlines that should enable you to pick the right one. They look two nice horses with big futures. A live outsider could be NTD 4yo I Like To Move It. He gets a handy age allowance and could be one to have an extra places interest on if the offering is right.

The swervers for you tomorrow are,
Bravemansgame my main one today. Though the Bob Olinger form got a bit of a boost if you take Blue Lord ("only" getting beat say 15l by Appreciate It barring the fall).
The Monkfish, CPS, Easysland treble looks nailed on.
Koshari, Amoola Gold and Kilcruit will be the picks in other races.

Le Brueil will probably need them to go around eight times for the test to be sufficient tomorrow!

Nothing much stands out tomorrow, hope for a classic in the Ballymore and hopefully we see CPS off the bridle.

Since i feel i should throw a couple of darts tommorow in the more unpredictable races , ive gone for Shake Em Up Arry , even though may have missed the target with this one , he’s got potential , along with most of the field , but he was staying on lto in hot hcap , horse that was six lengths behind finished third in the supreme today , the step up in trip should help , stable form is a bit indifferent after a hot spell a few weeks back , all is reflected in a ew price of 25/1 6 places , Stick has already put up Hogans Heights in that weird xc race that i find impossible to warm to , jamie snowdon knows what’s needed to win these , at 25/1 he’s a good ew shout . Best of luck all you ante post holders , and hope all the horses come home safe .
