Ive renewed but do not intend to go if crowds are limited. Will wait till things are back to normal....................moreso boozers etc, if social distancing rules still in force at start of season maybe difficult to get pre match pint which will totally spoil my matchday experience........
It's the first game back under lights I cant wait for hopefully middle of September a Tuesday night. Get that buzz around lunchtime at work as I muddle through an afternoon not concentrating on what I'm doing as I'm too buzzing for the match. Get home quickly scran some food and in the car off to the match. The anticipation in the air as I wander through the streets to the ground stop at the convenience store for some sweets. Queue to get through the turnstiles generally 10 15 minutes before kick off get through quickly neck a pint of overpriced and generally pretty rank Carling then up the access. Get the smell of the pitch as the dew is starting to set under the lights climb a few stairs wiggle past the crowd in my row and stand next to my seat while prokofiev reverberates around the ground and just take it all in. So many little things I generally take completely for granted I'm going to soak in when the time comes. Just realised I ain't mentioned the actual footy so the next thing I look forward to is jumping round like a lunatic when big Charlie bullets in a 90th minute header to secure the 3 points then listen to Elvis over the tannoy as you queue to get back down the stairs and on your merry way. CANT WAIT!!!!
In fact I'm even missing getting pushed and shoved around the concourse when queuing for a half time piss
Well the good thing is my brother works for people connected to event organising and they are involved in the euros this summer. They are planning on the final being in front a full house at Wembley in July so fingers crossed our vaccine roll out continues well and no new variants come across and all should be good for the new season
I stand a decent chance then. I think we all know stadiums won’t be allowed to operate at full capacity, if I can get to 5 games next season out of 23 I will be satisfied.
If there’s ‘no restrictions on social contact’ they can’t reduce capacity. If there are restrictions, won’t be anybody in, as it means we’ve had a 3rd wave.
I hope so mate, I just think they’ll make an exception for football and sporting venues in general, claiming they can’t be trusted etc.
They’d have to pass a law for that to be the case mate, there’s no chance. There’s already rebellion about them extending the powers they have now. Its going to be all or nothing. Have faith mate we will be back in.
'no going back' according to Boris. I think we will be back to normal for the start of the season. Another 60m doses announced as well. The main thing to him is not overwhelming the nhs which the vaccine will help massively. He isn't bothered about a third wave, it's overwhelming the nhs he is worried about and the vaccine reduces the severity.
