We’re far from being a passing side, we can’t even pass to each other. Where has the killer pass we used to posses, that’s now long gone. All our passing is aimlessly backwards, sidewards etc etc. I don’t mid us losing the ball in the last third, but we get there and the ball can end up with Woodman. Possession is one thing but it’s ****ing pointless if it’s not in our opponents box. I suppose Coopers football is like sex, all foreplay but with no penetration and the lady goes home very disappointed.
To be honest I'm not now even that bothered about promotion, whose going to benefit ? a few players on improved contracts , and cheap signings only to see us humiliated should Cooper still be pulling the strings . PL is as we know a massive step and we can't even say our "style" will help , our current one dimensional football will be torn to pieces even by teams in the lower half of the league. Proof for me whether Cooper can/is willing to adapt will be seen against PNE , will he stick with the same personnel and "shape" or will he stumble across another way of playing .
I don’t see him making any significant changes. It will probably be Cabango in for Naughton, Manning for Bidwell & Hourahan for Smith. I’d swap half the ****ing team out and put some of the youngsters in some with a bit of fire in their belly. Being a sub on a Swans bench must be so frustrating. Let’s look at one player in Oli Cooper, he’s a constant fixture on the bench, but the lads not had one opportunity to show Cooper what he can do. He will sit there game after game watching the same inept **** week in week out, what does that do to a player, it wouldn’t be human nature if he felt why am I bothering when the manager has no faith in his ability. I’m at a point now in not playing the loan players, start bedding in the players we know we will have next season.
I hope you're wrong regarding changes if not personnel than try reverting back to a back 4 , anything rather than see the same mistakes being made repeatedly. I still can't get over why won't he play Whittaker , obviously we don't see the squad training but the few occasions he's played he looks a bigger threat than Lowe whom I thought yesterday was shocking .
We have no width or pace in the team, let alone no passing ... I’m with you Matt, I’d play 4 at the back and either 4-4-2 or 4-3-3
Yesterday’s game was crying out for a change up top. Why play Lowe when he’s been on international duty. To me it was a no brainier for Cooper to start Whittaker.
I would go with 4-3-3 play Lowe out wide, Whittaker down the middle and Routs out wide. Then put Ayew in the centre of midfield with Grimes & Fulton.
I decided not to watch it when I saw the line up, no regrets on that one! Tried to avoid reading any reports or moaning.
