At the moment, not going to bother, will leave it to the very last minute and decide then but as of now not interested.
I might watch the odd game. After umpteen season tickets I got out of the 'habit' when LJ took charge. Now the thought of leaving before noon, parking on some pavement 20minutes from the ground and back to Mrs R for half six is not worth the effort. TBF even if I had my annual Winterstoke Road Car Park Pass I most likely wouldn't bother. Just got old I suppose.
I am simular to RP, I may go to the odd game, Mrs Wiz and me have held season tickets most of our married lives, Leapy Lee took charge and ruined it for us, the dross started, continued and we lost enthusiasm, we stopped attending, I used to park in Bedminster Cricket club, since ceasing to go I have bought a bolthole in Cornwall, that is where you will find us more frequently now. Habits change, Saturdays were always special for me, the trip to the gate, pre match drink with some friends, watch the game and then the mad dash home, I too must consider it's down to age and value for money, amazing for me to admit it but there are greater things in life than football and I am taking advantage of them. I will still go down but when it suits me, not on a season ticket and the funny thing is I don't care who knows it.
No change for me. I go to about half a dozen home games and a couple away. Not worth getting a season ticket. I was a member for a number of seasons before Covid though.
The game as a spectacle has definitely changed for the worse. Not just at AG, but I defy anyone to have enjoyed the tripe served up by Brighton and Everton last night. If its bad in the Premier League there's not much hope lower down the pyramid. For those watching I'm afraid Possession Possession Possession is killing football. And all the smiles after these games and the 2 sides embracing each other makes me cringe. Don't start me on VAR or the play acting and yelping after the slightest contact. Football has been sanitised, it's PC, we have women and people of colour on the main channels as pundits, not because they're any good - it's because we're told we have to diversify. The game and life in general has changed, it's called progress. Here endeth the lesson from this dinosaur.
I’ve never had a season ticket! Since the age of 19 I’ve played football on Saturdays and then worked shifts for over 30 years which obviously included match days, so have been to games home and away when I was able. As RP said, and I totally agree with, possession football is killing the game as a spectacle. The recent England games certainly confirmed that for me - what an absolute bore!!
I am holding on for clarity as to who will be in charge next season, I don't want to see us lumbered with another Holdenesque appointment.
Seriously, that dross that has seen us established as a Championship (Second Tier) side, something we strived for through the dross years of the 80's and 90's..... I admit the past 2 years have been disappointing, but still better than the years and years of third-tier football in the last 30-40 years, which you happily paid to watch - it makes no sense, but to each their own.
Don't you think, by the few, even had we made it to the Premiership....moans would still be there? I believe they were content being in League 1 competing against lesser opposition..
You are an LJ luvvie, I am not, I did not like the lies, the broken promises, the waffle, the excuses, the grass being to long, players being publically blamed, he was in my opinion a con man, I thought then, I think it now, in my opinion, with us he achieved zilch, I made my choice, I am very happy with that, you made yours and were happy with it, it makes no sense to me but you are welcome to what that man gave you and yes you are correct, to each their own. We will never agree, all people have different visions, different ambitions and accept different standards, you are welcome to yours, I am mine, please continue to support our team in your own way because I will always support them in mine and nothing will change that, this thread was about season tickets and my answer was based solely on that.
RR, I gave my answer in #4, no season ticket but the occasional match for me and personal circumstances.
Bought my normal 2 season tickets. Had two tickets since I moved back to Bristol in 2000, kept them when I moved to Penarth. May be I am strange but I am a BCFC support, enjoy supporting the team, not a LJ lover or hater. They could put anyone in charge, they can play possession football or long ball, I would support the team. I know the football I prefer but what ever I support the team. But as I say, I am probably strange.
