With Jose gone the Spuds players will be free to express themselves as they show of their skills to any prospective new manager. We will play some lovely sideways/backwards passes & try unsuccessfully to walk the ball in to their net & they'll then beat our press with long balls over the top & score 3 goals. Ralph will then use his tactical genius to make changes in the 85th minute which will undoubtedly make very little difference. Remember Ralph's mantra; We lose or we learn. Except of course we don't learn.
Annoyingly you might actually be right. I'm beginning to think we'd have been better off with them sacking Jose a couple of days later.
It does sound like part of the reason Jose was sacked was because he had 'lost the dressing room'. Which wouldn't be surprising considering that happens wherever his dark cloud goes. So in normal circumstances you would expect the spurs players to step out with renewed vigour. However, it's been a pretty mental few days for the (ex?) super club, and add to that the cup final a few days later and it's really difficult to predict how this one goes. The players might be really up for showing what they can do without Jose, they might be really up for performing for Mason, or they might be disillusioned with everything that has been going on at their club, or they might be thinking, just need to get through this game fit and healthy ready for the cup final. Who knows!? Regardless if we are going to come away with anything we will need to be several levels above where we have been in the past few games in effort and application. Seems unlikely but we live in hope.
The ESL headlines seem to have hindered Liverpool and Chelsea who have both drawn this week and cited problems with focusing on/preparing for the match. I think this week, especially with Jose going, will have equally impacted Tottenham. It's almost a bit annoying the the ESL died last night rather than after our game tonight Don't forget though, Spurs have a final this weekend and their players will have an eye on that. Kane is also out. Fingers crossed we can turn up for this one.
It will be interesting to see the line up tonight. Hopefully a few changes after that sh*tshow on Sunday
Heard an interesting interview earlier today with Linda Lusardi, who had COVID last March. She said it took her till January until she wasn’t getting out of breath just doing mild exercise. Now, if Danny and a few of the others actually had COVID, this might explain why they’re still off the pace. Hopefully, next season they’ll be fully fit. Personally, given his form in 2021, I can’t see anyone coming in for Danny in the summer .....
So a Spurs supporting mate just said to me, may the best team win. To which I replied, ****ing hope not. Up The Saints (****ers).
One of the advantages of the recent ESL debacle, could be a dampening effect on ambitions to move to clubs in the so called big 6. Let's hope so!
