    Levy's preferred candidates.

    Nagelsmann.....<laugh> Never happening.

Brendan Rodgers......<laugh> Couldn't count himself out fast enough.

Ten Hag........<laugh> Staying at Ajax and we can't afford the pay off.

Save the pain in waiting for weeks, 'Danny Boy'.....

He’s a B-tech Jose and doesn’t even have the charisma Jose has. I swear some of our fans are just gluttons for punishment.

    “Sack Jose, his football’s ****!”.

    To

“I want the lesser version of the manager that we’ve just sacked!”.

Absolute no to Benitez for the same reasons.

With Ten Hag I guess he’s just happy at Ajax. Probably doing them a favour because now if we really want him then we’ll have to stump up a bit more for the club, but it’s looking unlikely now.

Rangnick then? Whoever it is, it sounds like they’ll need to be used to working with and developing young players, so that probably rules Max Allegri out.

I honestly thought we had a chance of Nagelsmann until Bayern muscled in. Then I thought ten Hag was nailed on based on reports.

Now I’m just like “**** it, surprise me”.

Those managers would have been looking at a job prospect that includes arguably the best stadium in Europe, Son, Kane, CL finalists 2019, and international players including a World Cup winning captain... to name a few things.

    Yet no one wants it.

    Tells us a lot!

Mate, it isn't that we could be worse. The fact is that the last ten years have been our best ever in the league and the best entertainment since the 60s. We've been shopping for bargains because the previous owners left us as mid table, penniless and mediocre. Now everyone wants the Chairman who changed all that out.

Each to his own but I wouldn't swap either the Redknapp years or the Pochettino years for the 80s.

But we won things in the 80s, and David Pleats team in 86/87 played some of the best football I have seen in my recently passed 50 years as a Spurs fan it is just a shame that much like Poch it was ultimately just a bit disappointing. I won't dispute that our league form under Poch is beyond compare but he too came up short.

The Arry years don't compare to the Keithy years.
Even the Shreeves 1984-85 season (Keithy legacy) had me believing for a while.

The 80s had higher highs and much lower lows, but I think that's fairly typical of the era.
Clubs were generally less consistent and it didn't take as much to shift between divisions or go from also-rans to challengers.

I would...80/81-83/84 and 86/87 were fantastic seasons ... brilliant football, some great footballers (Perryman, Hoddle, Villa, Ossie, Roberts, Clemence, Crooks, Galvin, Archibald, Mabbutt, Allen, Waddle, Gough, Miller, Hughton) and brilliant memories.
As a bonus we also won 2 FA Cups and a UEFA Cup and made a Cup winners Cup semi final and a league cup final.

The best thing I can say about Rafa Benitez is he'd have been a more solid option to carry the can after Poch left than the ubermensch was

    In other words, not now

If we're quick, we can pay Wolsfburg £4.3m for Oliver Glasner - and we have to be, as that clause expires today
