Acura Sports also said on 26 April that: "Todd Cantwell has signed a new deal at Norwich City Football Club. The club remain hopeful that Emi Buendia and Max Aarons, who have offers on their table(s) will sign on to stick with the Canaries for their PL Campaign." Has anyone seen anything about that?
Norwich City could be set for disappointment in their pursuit of Jacob Murphy as Newcastle United plan to trigger their option to extend the winger’s contract at St James’ Park, a source has exclusively revealed to Football League World. Murphy has made 23 appearances in the Premier League this season under Steve Bruce, scoring two goals and registering two assists for the Magpies, whose top-flight status is now secure. However, the 26-year-old is out of contract at St James’ Park heading into the summer and a source has revealed to Football League World that Norwich are keen to reunite with the player. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/s...t-to-scupper-potential-norwich-city-transfer/
Yes, I read that and was similarly sceptical, Cromer. According to my nephew, who is part of the Toon army, Jacob has been a disappointment up until he began to find form again this season, particularly in the run in. I'm not sure that he'd be a good fit in our style of play and I suspect journo imaginative play here. Wiki says striker: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenny_Coker As does the Official site: https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2021/may/kenny-coker-signs-for-norwich-city/ And this from the Southend Echo: https://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/1...iker-kenny-coker-completes-move-norwich-city/
SW updates the situation with Skipp and Nyland: https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwi...enham-olly-skipp-stuart-webber-future-7971486
Just seen a couple of photos of Kenny Coker. He looks to be a huge unit, and only 17 years old. If he is still growing it is frightening what his eventual size will be. He played a couple of trial matches for the U18's earlier when we were able to assess him and he was able to check the academy out.
I felt the same about him, and he must have something to force himself into Southend's senior squad at 16.
The curious case of Angus Gunn has now cropped up. After his excellent year with us he moved to Southampton and never really kicked on. He's been on loan at Stoke since January and done well. Is he a better option than Nyland to provide competition for Krul? https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/angus-gunn-christian-walton-orjan-nyland-transfer-7972460 And here's SW's latest take on the transfer strategy: https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/canaries-stuart-webber-transfer-window-strategy-7973822 Quality not quantity is the key.
Gunn was on loan to Stoke last season and played well, so a loan might be an option. Like Bure, though, I think he'd provide genuine competition for Krul and certainly a solid backup if Krul is injured. Much may depend on whether Nyland agrees to stay.
