True but because Chelsea and Leicester play each other, it's actually more in Liverpool's hands than their; if we win all our games, one if them is likely to miss out. Only way that doesn't happen is if Chelsea win their match but Leicester hammer Spurs.

(Obviously ignoring us inevitably losing making it all mute)

Lew has just scored for Bayern, equalling Gerd Mullers all time record for goals in a season

Not sure if it was discussed much as it’s probably lost in the fact that we won the game but the refereeing was disgraceful.

Taylor bottled a number of decisions - not only was it a penalty but he shouldn’t be overturning it if it’s not a clear and obvious error. McTominey should have been sent off for a shin high kick - he got a booking instead and he should have been sent off afterwards for pulling Mane down. Cavani should have been sent off also after he deliberately handballed it and didn’t get anything and then got carded for another challenge.

    Pathetic refereeing all around.

You appear to have made the rookie error of trying to compare refereeing as it applies to the rest of the league, with Old Trafford/Utd refereeing which has completely different rules and dates back to the Ferguson years.

Disagree on the pen. Jimmy..............I know we can talk about that happening elsewhere on the pitch and a free kick being given (maybe) but
it was clearly ball first. Sometimes players are going to get clattered without there being an offence committed.

It's back to the Paisleyesque - put the ball in the net and we'll talk about it later.

We get better results when we are able to bypass the referee.

Mctominay was lucky but cavani doesn't make the second challenge if booked.

It was never a pen after relooking. I think Taylor didn't see the ball contact and wrongly gave it

Taylor should book fernanes for being a squealy little bitch though.

Tbf, the maths is a bit complex for ex-footballers whose IQ rarely exceeded their squad number.

I think it would have been harsh to give that pen, with the benefit of replays.

I didn’t think it’s a penalty at first because he does win the ball but that is irrelevant because of his follow through which endangers the opponent. It’s a foul. Dems the rules …

I keep saying it Taylor is the worst ref I have ever seen at top level
Has literally zero control in a game

Tbf they aren’t wrong. It’s also in their hands. If Leicester or chelsea win all their games then they will finish top 4. It’s a weird scenario where every team knows win all your games and you finish top 4

was never a penalty in million years. Mctom should be send off. Was a clear second yellow.

In regard to cavani, are you talking about when ball got played up to him and he tried to chest it back? If so that’s not a yellow... not very handball is a yellow.

It’s not endangering. His shin connects with Phillips shin. Just cos theirs contact after a tackle doesn’t make it dangerous

They said they rather be in Leicester or Chelsea position BECAUSE it's in their hands. That's suggesting it isn't in ours, aka wrong.

It is strange though, all three teams control their own destiny but three doesn't go into two

Not really. Happens all the time when the participants play each other. Similar to top 2 playing each other in a final match. Either winning all will get the title. Because only one of Leicester and Chelsea can win all their games !

True. I guess point being that it’s in their hands plus they have points on the board so in theory only need to match our results as well

No problems with him as a pundit either, sky really need to stop the commentary being more like a League of Their Own panel. ****ing bantz and all that nonsense during a game is so annoying
