So the Euros are underway and there's already been some standout team and individual performances.

International tournaments are both a great spectacle for us fans (I love them!) but also an opportunity for players to display their talent in front of many watching eyes that perhaps wouldn't be watching at club level, sometimes these performance can lead to big transfers for the players, from memory we signed Zokora after his performances in the 2006 World Cup and we signed Pavlyuchenko from his performances in the 2008 Euros.

Gonna make this thread for players who've caught my eye thus far and will do so throughout the tournament. Will then see if any of them do indeed generate interest from us or elsewhere during or after the tournament finishes.

If anyone's caught yours too, throw 'em in <ok>

Italy have so far set the standard in my opinion with a dominant display against Turkey. Whilst just about every Italian was class, including the usual suspects like Chiellini, Bonucci and Insigne, the performances of Spinazzola, Barella and Locatelli really stood out for me.

Spinazzola is a right-footed LWB, in the Lee Young-Pyo mould. Normally I don't like the idea of a FB/ WB playing on the side that isn't that of their strongest foot but Spinazzola's performance can't go unnoticed. Up and down the wing the whole game, instrumental in many attacks, wasn't afraid of using his left foot and was credited with an assist for Immobile's goal. Rightly awarded MOTM. Played under our likely new manager, Fonseca... Don't suppose he fancies a reunion but taking our RWB spot by any chance?

Barella is a player a few on here have said they'd like to see at Spurs in the past and his performance the other night showed why. Playing on the right of the three man midfield, he played in what the Italian's like to call the "Mezzala" role, a position in which a central midfielder drifts wide and essentially acts as a secondary winger on attacks. He played it brilliantly, was a constant threat and was heavily involved in their final goal, getting what I like to call "The Modric Assist". Easy to see why he was a key component in Conte's title win at Inter this season.

Locatelli played what I'd say was the Xabi Alonso role, a deeper lying midfielder with a great range of passing but with good physical attributes too that made him competent both defending and creating. Just about every Italy attack seemingly went through him and/ or Jorginho. Allowed Italy to remain so dominant alongside his two other CM partners. Even though we have Hojbjerg and (likely) Skipp for next season, definitely wouldn't be disappointed if we made a move for him, think he'd be perfect for the Prem and being at Sassuolo at the moment, I reckon there'll be a few big clubs monitoring him.

An unsurprising name here as just about most of this board and fanbase want him but Sabitzer was good for Austria. Involved in a lot of their positive play and his cross for Lainer's brilliant goal summed up his technical ability. If the rumours are indeed true he's available for around £15m, we'd be absolute mugs to not to go for him.

Don't forget Paulinho after 2013 Confederations Cup. Maybe a drawback to buying players on the back of a good tournament.

Whilst I unfortunately missed the whole match due to slight alcohol related reasoning <whistle>, I've seen highlights of the Holland game and Denzel Dumfries should be someone of interest to us in my opinion. He's a goal scoring FB for PSV and his winning goal last night could've arguably been his hattrick as he had chances beforehand. At 6'2 he's a bit unconventional height-wise for a FB which allows him to be a threat aerially but despite being of big build he still moves like a typical modern day one. With Aurier set to leave and Doherty having an unconvincing first season, he should be relatively high up on our list of RB targets in my opinion.

Could be wrong but weren't we already in negotiations for him though beforehand? I don't usually watch it but I'm sure I watched that Confed Cup because I knew we were signing him/ interested in him.

Kalvin Phillips is a player we were linked to a year or two back. I was actually disappointed when I saw he was starting in a double DM pairing alongside Rice but he made me look a fool with a brilliant performance. Combative yet also capable of playing nice passes, as shown with his assist for Sterling's winner. Easily MOTM for me and more performances like that (should he play) will likely draw some attention from a number of clubs.

Spinazzola was a winger initially IIRC, then I think Fonseca converted him. Explains his attacking instincts.

Patrick Schick, another player we had links too a couple years ago as a potential understudy to Kane, with two great goals against the Scots. Accurate header from a great cross and then an absolute Beckham-esque worldy to lob the keeper. Depending on whether Fonseca believes one of Parrott or Scarlett are able to step up or not, we may be on the lookout for another striker this summer...

Enis Bardhi impressed me for North Macedonia yesterday. I’ve literally seen him for 90 minutes, but still. <laugh>
Apparently his predominant position is as a LW but yesterday he was like watch prime Modric.
Some really calm possession centrally with a decent first touch and the ability to pass forwards and spread the ball.

let’s see what he’s like in the next couple of games, but he’s certainly made a good first impression. <ok>

Beauty of international tournaments though, mate. None of us would’ve likely known or mentioned Bardhi as someone we’ve found impressive in the past, couple more decent games and his career can change.

Marcus Danielsson, 32 years old, only getting his 10th cap for Sweden but put in a very solid and committed display.

Alex Isak, bit more well known and a lot younger, didn’t get to see much of the ball but when he did have it he looked a problem for Spain’s defence. A player with potentially a big future.

we were after him, he wanted us...what we waiting for?

he’s a player, any manager would want imo, got skill sets and character any manager with a brain would appreciate.

That Zhick lad had a good game for the Checkz...probably wouldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo if we bought him...just got that kinda vibe bowt him

if Kane goes we should be looking at Weghorst imo

**** knows mate, you know how it is at Spurs, dally about and then probably miss out on him lol. I reckon there’ll be a ton of teams battling for him now though, if we’re one of them we’ve gotta make him one sexy offer.

I'd be tempted to try him on the right though. Just a feeling.
