Always look forward to the olympics. Bit odd this time with no fans. Still hope we see some good sport though.

Some good British hopes as well with Peaty, Asher-Smith, the two Kennys. Young boxer called McCormack looks good too.

I think this one will be a disaster, tbh. There's a load of athletes missing through either being sent home because of Covid or the athletes who just point blank refused to go while there's a pandemic on. It might be more competitive, however, the quality isn't going to be as good. I tried to watch the Brazil and Germany game yesterday but it was being played in an empty stadium so I turned it off despite the goals going in.

usually just tune in for the medal runs...not a fan of the build up, used to get all excited seeing british athletes storm through the rounds only to end up last place in the medal run.

Hope not mate but I know where you are coming from. Feel sorry for Tokyo mind, I went to London and it was an amazing buzz. Plus a lot of money was spent.

Agreed mate. Something like the Olympics deserve spectators. Spectators deserve something like the Olympics, a truly remarkable sporting occasion. I feel this one will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

Hope you are well mate and its wonderful to see you posting again on here.

Tele rights are worth billions. They lost out on £1 billion ticket sales and £26 billion to put the event on but will still break even with sponsorship and television rights sales.

Good to see Peaty, what a swimmer. He has fastest 16 times in history - immense.

Pat is in at welterweight. Lost a world championship final then cam back to beat the same lad. Think he fights early Tuesday morning, will be setting an alarm for it.

GB doing well. Rowing in a bit of bother, they must get a fair chunk of the money going in for very little returns while the BMX lot have a gold and a silver and had to crowdfund their training cause their funding was cut.

I've watched 3 games of Women's football. Each one of them had a penalty in them and each one was saved. No disrespect to the lasses, but are the pitches maybe a bit big for their physiques? That pen for GB v Aus didn't look like it wouldn't have crossed the line had the keeper sat down, had a fag and wandered over to pick it up

Women's football is absolute toss because they're playing on men's pitches. Don't get me started on the goalkeeping.
I think it's because there are less female psychopaths tbh. Great goalies always have that streak in them. Plus the goals are too big, anywhere within three feet of post or bar and it's a goal.

Agree. I nearly got lyched in my previous job for having a adult discussion about this. It will always be too slow and silly goals due to size of pitch and goal height. However, some who call for equality will refuse to lower it. Ridiculous, majority of goals come from tiny goal keepers not being able to get to high balls.
