A mate of mine told me he was stuck in UK as he couldnt get travel insurance to travel to an Amber list country (Indonesia) presimably because government advice was not to travel there. Now we have gone Red so suspect his Indonesian. Wife wont be seeing him anytime soon.

Often life insurance policies become null and void in those situations.

Just about to board a plane back to UK now and going straight into 10day hotel quarantine. Suspect I will have plenty of seats to choose from.

just saying some may consider it a logical extension in times of a pandemic. I think there should be free market choice in the system - if pubs like 'Spoons want to exercise their right to have unvaccinated customers, I'd like to use my choice to go somewhere that doesn't. Same with any venue. Freedom personified.

He stuck by his beliefs and ended up dying by them.

Can't really fault him for that.

Patently wrong re the vaccine of course but what can you do?

FWIW, because a 58 year old bloke has died because he refused the vaccine does not and will not change my own stance that this is unnecessary to pump into (my) children any time soon.

There are still too many unknowns.

He was, in his own words, fat and unhealthy so it's not really the same.

Yep, I wouldn't do that. I would hope sponsors and the BBC, for instance, would ensure major events like, for instance, next year's Glastonbury, was fully vaccinated. But if someone wants to put on a festival that doesn't have to be vaxxed, then so be it - let's see what major sponsors and advertisers will back it. Ajnd I will respond accordingly with my purchasing power, just as I've never bought a Dyson for five years. <ok>

That was a very difficult thing to watch. I don’t post much on here, but I have seen a lot of his ramblings and wind ups and enjoyed most of them. It’s such a shame that intelligent people think like this. The “bogey man” that he didn’t believe in got him :(.

No. He was a guitar player in a band from the South Coast, who watched Southampton due to location, but supported Spurs.

I’m having some tapas in his memory, for dinner.

I particularly like the Foccacia and the Manzo Carpaccio.
