My mate has just dug this 'lump' up from his garden - it's about 2'6" long and fairly weighty, looks a little like a pick-axe head but has nowhere for a shaft, he lives in a rural area so mebbe some obscure farm implement, any ideas gents?
Magically standing up on it's own? forget that I see there must be a hole on the work bench it's stuck in as you said pick axe like. It could be a big **** off jemmy
One of my cycle routes, theres a farm on the left just after the Seaton Ross turn off (Holme on SM to Bubwith) I call it the farm machine graveyard, theres stuff going back must be 50 years just rusting in the middle of fields..
Does he live near a train line? looks like an old tool from something like that..... or maybe tats just my bad imagination......
Your mate should get rid as soon as possible. It's a Sorcerers stick that. I'm sorry, I can't say any more on the subject...
It looks like a really big wrecking bar or maybe a digging bar. please log in to view this image It is a point or flat ended at the end stuck in the bench?
Goes to a point mate, I like the idea of a wrecking bar - I wouldn't want to spend a shift wielding it though
its a rail crowbar in a past life i was killed by a fellow worker mis-using one to be honest im not bitter, they were heavy and nigh on murder to use
