Why aren’t we spending?

Despite 3 previous attempts at promotion, this squad has failed.

So what is going on in the club’s hierarchy?

We’ve only brought in loans and free transfers (as usual) and not yet brought in a goalkeeper.

If no further signings are made, it’s another season in league 1 IMO.

 

It's ****e. No points on the board, and already near the bottom of the league table.

I would love to have seen if William Storey would have got the cheque book out, I suspect he would have. Very frustrating all this, seems like false hope yet again, but IF LJ actually plays the youngsters, then I will feel a lot more positive about this season. I think he’ll stick with the old guard though.

 

I've heard it's cos KLD always preferred playing Football Manager on super-hard mode.

 

You cant label this current squad as having 3 failures. There are 7 or 8 players in it who werent last year for starters. I bet there is no more than 5 in it from our first season down here.

Of those who have been here since season one I can think of McGeady, O'Nien and Gooch who are here now that I reckon are good enough. Willis would be but injured.

There are some players I would shift, but this is a different squad to what we have had before.

 

Spend money? Like we have done previously you mean?

I don’t know how many times people are going to twist about this before they realise you don’t have to pay a transfer fee to get a good player at this level.

 

He couldn't get the chequebook out to buy the club mate so where was he getting the cash to buy players after buying the club?

I'd be worried about someone like Storey coming in and splashing the cash as you know he wouldn't have it but would be getting into debt with someone. Unless he had the fabled consortium he banged on about.

Who else is spending when they don't absolutely have to this close season? I'm talking 'we must buy or we won't be able to put a team out' need here.

 

There’s only one club who hasn’t signed a single player the thick bastards. Imagine believing that ****e, he puts all due diligence in but now regrets it. Them ****ers will swallow owt, especially with gravy

Wish you hadnt reminded me of him mate. Shudder to think what would have become of us if he was serious and got the deal done. He would probably have installed himself as manager

It wouldn't have cleared more like. I could write a cheque for 350milllion now, write some numbers on a piece of paper is all I would be doing.

The statement doesn't even make sense especially the bit about investing and firing us back into the premiership. I mean that whole thing would need to be after 3 or 4 years minimum as he hasn't been here long enough for that to be the reason he is fed up.

 

Does that old guard include the likes of Leadbitter, Power, McLaughlin and Maguire? Cos if you haven't been paying attention they've now left the club
