The Preston game was our benchmark. We started the season minus Honeyman, lose Wilks, then Moncur.. Today we've lost 2-0 to a side expected to win this league and with individual players worth more than our entire squad...that's also a benchmark. Our lads have gone there and tried their best, personally I can't ask for more.
The Championship will split into 3 mini leagues after 10 games - promo faves, mid-table mediority and relegation candidates. We need to climb into the mid-tablers asap.
Didn't suggest or infer you were being emotional. I was talking in general terms as I used to get very emotional watching/following City. Always wanting us to overturn the odds and score an equalizer or winner, then finding myself very depressed all ****ing weekend and week if we didn't. Not sure I have contradicted myself but your reply suggests you are looking to score a point. Fine if you are and if not sorry.
If the Allams had a good relationship with Marco Silva, maybe Fulham have someone available that might give us a helping hand..
Not trying to score any points,I'd rather the Team get them Today was a shot to nothing against a very expensive outfit who'll be considered a failure if they fail in their objective. We are a young side who will progress with learning and there'll be a fair bit of that in the coming months. We will improve, especially when the injuries and suspension clear themselves.
2-0 defeat is not bad at all. I expected much worse. Performance seems to have been better than Wednesday, so all good. We need to chalk up another point or 3 very soon.
They were just better than us all over the pitch, lucky to get away at just 2 nil. They were bigger and stronger thsn us and grew into the game just as we tailed off.
Blades are having a mare. Forest could well be the next Sunderland. My biggest worry for City is that out of the three promoted teams, we look the least like scoring.
Blackpool are making a good start to life in the Championship. I do worry about where the goals are going to come from and our general play in trying to create a goal scoring opportunity. We’re a bit agricultural and it may have worked in League One, it won’t work against teams in the Championship.
