Not a bad effort from Absolute Ruler. He was staying on without ever really getting a clear run and wasn't far away in a bunch finish where Atomic Jones came with a strong run out wide in the clear to get up. Absolute Ruler was 3rd, beaten a neck and half a length, so a pretty good run. Maritime Wings was a big disappointment and his 106 rating looked a joke there. That would worry me if I were backing Point Lonsdale tomorrow and seeing the form tie in with the Guineas favourite running behind horses rated in the 90's. Nursery winner Howth was 4th and beaten less than a length today. His official rating is 91 and he stank from that new rating in another nursery next time. His proximity today casts a shadow over the quality of this Group 2 contest.
Looks like being one of them days, a couple of very small races already being won by the outsider. In this 1.45 at Donny I’ve done a combi t/c using those drawn high. Mr Wagyu Copper knight Kind review Beyond equal
Hurricane Ivor sets up the potential Hurricane double with Lane in the Leger. My forecast horse faded to be last but a win is a win and Hurricane Ivor has toted top-weight to victory and is likely to be raised to a difficult mark now.
Reach For the Moon .............. I can get anything beaten. Anything. Someone should be paying me ****loads to back the opposition! And on that basis Hochfeld has NO chance at Chester!
Bayside Boy bursts Reach For The Moon bubble there. That is another knife into the Point Lonsdale form. Lusail was last today and I could not fathom why they ran him here. Richard Hannon said that he was a 6F horse and when he bombed at Pontefract it was soft, so two things were against him today and you would think when a trainer says one thing they would stick to it. Bayside Boy gave Masekela a huge fright last time and that colt in turn had run Native Trail close in the Superlative. With that in mind I have backed the Appleby colt for the National Stakes tomorrow at 5/1. 4.05 Curragh Sunday Native Trail 5/1
Laneqash to get the ReeBOK treatment next up at Donny!! As stewards look into SMB win at Leopardstown. You wouldn't bet against a DQ would you???
15:50 Chester - Paws For Thought (Ground conditions should favour selection, and is a C/D winner too. Well-drawn for this 6f sprint. Richard Kingscote, stable jockey for the Tom Dascombe yard, takes the ride.)
