Keith Downing and Paul Simpson, now returned to the club after treatment for renal cell carcinoma, have been re-titled First Team Coaches. City Manager Pearson said: “I’m really pleased to have Curtis on board permanently. He is a fantastic coach and has added another dimension to the set-up. Curtis has settled in well and we’ve seen his impact in the short time he has been with us. Everybody is looking forward to continuing the season with him.” Fleming commented: “Everybody has been so welcoming since I arrived and I’ve enjoyed every minute so I’m very excited to continue working as assistant manager. It’s a fantastic set-up here and I’m very much looking forward to helping the team have a successful season.” Fleming has worked at Crystal Palace, QPR and Middlesbrough and most recently managed I-League club Punjab FC before linking up with the Robins in the summer. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/fleming-named-assistant-manager/
Good move from my point of view, obviously very popular with the players. Bristol City Live 16m · Bristol City have confirmed a major backroom staff reshuffle this morning, with Curtis Fleming named assistant manager. Paul Simpson and Keith Downing have been reassigned as first-team coaches.
You said Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh will be the ones joining. And now you’re saying Fleming was always on the cards, like you’ve known it as a fact? Saying that you was telling everyone Hughton was a done deal and he will be on the roof, like you were in the know.
Mr Hughton had a shocking interview-Mr Pearson was impeccable completely blew Mr L away with his knowledge and vision for Bristol City FC.
But you said done deal, now you’re saying what everyone knew he didn’t impress in the interview, like only you knew.
Hughton thought he would only need to turn up and he would get the job. Definitely we have come out off it with the better deal.
It says here he met with the club but it is all very vague.. 'As previously reported, former Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle United manager Hughton has met with the club and is on their shortlist to succeed Lee Johnson' https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/exclusive-chris-hughton-among-eight-4359580
Certainly was- but it was the wrong and cheap option-Pearson is the most expensive manger in Bristol City history.
