Too late to put actual dosh on it - probably why it won! Trying to be more selective today and avoid handicaps if I can. But may not!
One thing I keep feeling is that this year's top 2yos seem dominated by horses you'd never fancy to get 12f next year. The top two in the Royal Lodge are an example. Masekela (whom I backed by the way but that's a twisted strategy that I'm following at the moment: hoping to spike my competitors in the Balding competition by putting the mockers on them) has no chance on breeding of getting 9f let alone 12. Coroebus might get 10f but 12f would be a stretch. Of course Herbert says Royal Patronage would stay, but that's asking a lot of the sire. I know he got Almanzor but I don't think he was a 12f horse. Of course last week's winner Native Trail is highly unlikely to get beyond 8f. So where are next year's 12f horses?
15:20 Market Rasen - Trumps Benefit (Return to jumps interesting as he's obviously better at this discipline. Callum Bewley rides for the Ryan Potter yard. 8/1-15/2 top prices at time of writing.)
More impressive than the fav for sure. Won some groats, lost some groats - might have to sell my hen to cover costs
Our away form is much better than home, so I'm hopeful Handicaps - I know, I know - but - twist my arm then ... Jaawal Got lucky ........ too late to place a bet!
We couldn't win a summons at the moment. My brother is in a "last man standing" comp down to the last 2 - looking at 400 quid. I told him to go for Ipswich but he's gone Everton. Fingers crossed.
He has very strong form in the book and 5/2 looks a nice price based on what he has achieved. I just wonder how well he will handle the undulations and HMS Endeavour might be worth an e/w dabble.
I see the forum is thriving with OddDogs regime. The two worst judges on the site now moderating Thats the two big favourites of the day been given the kiss of death. UK racing is a mugs game, America is different class as a product, a spectacle, in coverage, and in betting. Couple for the Breeders Cup. Juvenile Turf - Annapolis 10/1 BC Mile - Mo Forza 14/1
It irks to side with Chappers, but I'm plumping for Lucander ew 8 places! Not had my jabs yet - have to request them apparently, Covid, flu and kennel cough!
