I know he is one of our own but asking for Dawson to take the helm is another recipe for disaster.. I recall his stint at Scunthoroe didn't particularly go well, the shrudest way to go if there is a sale in the waiting would be to get that identified manager in now, give him chance to organise what he has got and then add to it come the transfer window. I'd love it to be Wilder, because that is exactly what we need now, someone who can organise and is tactically smart.
On the contrary, Marshall is a perfect example of what we couldn't afford. We let him go because we didn't want to pay his wage. He went to Wigan which says a lot about our spending power. We downgraded to Long because he was cheaper, then two years later we decided we wouldn't even pay Long's wage any more. It's becoming increasingly apparent to me that people really underestimate just how far behind other clubs we are in spending terms.
I'd challenge the idea that we couldn't afford a deal for a 3rd choice keeper at a club on the brink of administration - but it isn't a position that would be my priority. But then after the 2nd or 3rd midfielder I'd say that wasn't a priority either and we still brought more in. It's been clear since Papa Allam spat his dummy out the there'd be no new investment and that the club would be run into decline in such a way as to maximise capital recovery from the football club by Allamhouse. I accepted that half a decade ago. Only difference is the parachutes have run out and the Allams now know they're stuck with a liability as opposed to an asset, especially as their asset stripping has resulted in an inevitable relegation should new investment not be forthcoming in January.
Agree totally. If this weeks games confirm that McCann can't turn it around then we have nothing to loose by putting a coaching team in place and bedding them in so they know what they're working with ahead of the January window.
Now’s everyone’s opportunity got a LinkedIn advice for new marketing manager at City salary about £38k so now take the job and make your changes to get the crowds back in ! Not sure it’s in the marketing depts brief to get rid of Mcann tho’
Is that a new addition, or to replace someone who is leaving? I thought it was mentioned there was only 1 anyway.
Sorry not sure I just got the LinkedIn advice , not applying because of all the stock I’d get from those who know it all
In a backwards sort of way I hope we get turned over tonight because I cannot sit and bare any longer the Archbishop of Sandy Row. Even then, he’s untouchable at the moment so he’ll still be in a job, even if we go on to lose our next 10 games. 9 points from a possible 84 points in the Championship.
Heart says McCann out. Head says that he's never going to be sacked under the current regime and we're not going to get anyone any better willing to work under the the conditions that he has to, so why go through the upheaval. Keep fingers crossed and hope the Illicali takeover happens. The only way he'll go barring new ownership is if he finally admits to himself that either he's not up to the job or that he's operating under such tight restrictions from the owner that it makes it appear like he's not up to the job, and he resigns.
I can kinda see your sentiment, I want Grant out asap, but I cannot bring myself to wish the team to lose
New member?,hoping we lose tonight?,having a poke at McCann and his place of birth? Sounds all too familiar...
