It depends on how Klopp wants to set the team up. If he wants the LCM to be disciplined and build up play, then Jones cannot play there. Yes, he's good on the ball but he's still very raw defensively.

That's not to say he can never develop but he has to displace Thiago in that role (and also Naby - whilst people dont rate him, Klopp did start him there earlier this season).

there was clearly a policy of easing some players in hence Keita and Elliott starting the first few games and in fact that policy is fairly common in last few years . I do think Keita has started to show the discipline to play more conservatively but he still seems to struggle to do a full 90 mins and that is without mentioning his regular injuries .
