In the Land of the Cynic, the first to turn Cynical is King. Reams will doubtless be chuffed to bits that CL is following his lead. If Charlton Life has chosen to oppose Sandgaard as policy, in the way that ITTV did about six months ago, then I'm glad I don't post my views on either of those forums. Once they have run TS out of town, they can busy themselves organising protests against whatever hedge fund or crook then buys the Club. Maybe Farnell and Matt Southall will return.
we're going down, so not exactly OK. But there are worse things than life in League Two for a few seasons. If some more con-men or a hedge fund gets hold of CAFC we'll be experiencing most of those worse things.
I actually think Charlton and League 2 would be a perfect fit. Bromley could go up this season - could be the making of a new fierce rivalry
Roddy gone? Well, his time at SE7 seems to have been a mixed one. Seems to be part of the recent shake-up surrounding the permanent appointment of JJ. Presumably the Anti-Sandgaard loony fringe are celebrating tonight, bless 'em...
I agree, TS has quietly concluded that the summer transfer window was a disaster. The boo boy in me says that we aren’t going to do much business in January, as our season is already over.
Not sure it was a disaster. Players who were being targeted by the mob in september like Dobson or Clare are now first on the sheet. Lee looks a good signing. Kirk badly needs to be loaned out as it isn't working right now and he may not fit the Jackson system, while Soare was alast minute freebie we picked up to give us cover in an area we were deficient in. Some good, some bad - definately room for improvement but not a disaster. We do need someone up front but as Stockley and Washington are very much starters, whoever we get needs to be prolific but happy to start on the bench. Not an easy combination.
I have equated the summer transfer window with the beginning of the season, where we spent a lot of time in the relegation zone. Which I consider to be a disaster. Here’s hoping JJ will continue to get the best out of the players at his disposal, showing my melodrama to be misplaced. But if we do come up short this season, missing out on the play offs, I think it will come down to two things. Disastrous summer recruitment and Adkins the tactical dinosaur. I do agree with you Shabbs on the striker situation. An experienced centre forward, possibly in the mould of Nicky Forster, might be what we need.
