I remind myself that he is still a local guy, and he came to Newcastle in difficult circumstances. Could someone else have done better? Maybe, but lets face it our squad was never that great, and the funds he had were often never there. He didn't have an easy job. He was not good enough, but I don't like the hatred he got sometimes. He is still a geordie and I wish him the best. I am glad he is not manager anymore, but I don't hate him as a person, and would still welcome him to go to games and support the lads with the rest of us.
He's gone and therefore I have no need to think about him any more, so I won't. No good feelings, no bad feelings, just nothingness now from me for Steve Bruce
He took the piss out of the club, fans and city from day one. **** him and anyone who feels sorry for him. Fat useless cabbage headed knacka
He was crap and any manager with any sense of integrity would have resigned but he knew Ashley wouldn't sack him because of the pay off he would have to shell out for, he can **** off down to London and dance as much as he likes now, I have no sympathy for him whatsoever.
The fans did make it personal from day one and Bruce returned fire every chance he had rather than try to win them over. I can't imagine it's been nice because he's just a man. No hard feelings he's got 8 million and he'll be ok.
His record has been poor, but he did keep us up twice which was pretty much all Ashley asked of him - and all he equipped him to do. The football wasn't good either. However, I have no issues with him believing he was good enough to do the job, even if he was wrong. It was also his dream job as a Newcastle fan. A lot of the people on here saying they would have resigned for the good of the club may have had a different response if they found themselves in that situation. A lot of the abuse went too far, so I am pleased for him that is over. It gives both the club and him a chance for a fresh start. I wish him well.
He's lived the dream for 2 years and had the chance to manage his club and he will not doubt get a decent pay off. Seems a decent bloke but its time to move on. Could he have done better with decent players, who knows? If I was him I'd enjoy retirement now
So he's gone, but where next for him? Given his fondness for associating with both sides of an area: Sheffield Utd and Wednesday, Newcastle, Sunderland and Hull (it's close enough to count) Birmingham and Aston Villa, From his playing days at Man Utd and Norwich, that leaves him Ipswich or Man City!!! I can only deduce therefore he's replacing Pep!!
He claimed to be a fan but was happy to be Ashley's stooge. He sold his soul to the devil and had no integrity at the end when he simply stayed for a pay off. Would he have gone before he relegated us.? No, not without a pay off. Newcastle fan, don't make me laugh.
