Surely there is no argument to keep him. He's had 64 games in charge and we are no further forward. We were flirting with the play offs when he was appointed, we are now, still flirting with the play offs.
Thing is its not our job to find a new manager, that is down to the owners and recruitment, if they have anything about them they will already have people in mind. It's not like the club really look at forums to see who they should hire. LJ is clearly not capable of doing the job so if they have other options in mind they need to do it now
Maybe that in itself is an argument for keeping him. Changing managers hasn't improved anything. Maybe its time to try something new. Give a manager time to build something up.
A manager is only as good as the players he has available to him. Even the greatest managers in history would tell you that. That's why they all went out and signed new ones. Most of those managers that we identify as being the greatest weren't limited by transfer windows to when they could sign new ones.
Can’t believe he’s still in a job. Just get the useless ****er out man. I’ve been checking the news every 20 minutes at work and nowt. 1-1 at 10 man Shrewsbury ****ing town man, the southern knacker.
But getting worse.... See he tried to take credit for the goal, saying its "something we had worked on", but it seems everything else is the players fault. I hate this constant hiring and firing of managers (or "coach") at some point we need to stick with one, I just wish we could find one worth sticking with. LJ isn't the one.
Parkinson was sacked at the end of November with 23 points from 13 games, 1.77 ppg Johnson has 1.88 ppg, hardly an improvement and certainly not significant enough to justify his position.
When people list names of managers that they want can they actually think before they guve some suggestions since when did big sam and hughton and keano ect work under a dof and youth and attacking football they never
Until now I’ve never heard any Sunderland fan say they wanted m in I knew he was useless before he was appointed here you only have to look at his record at previous clubs. It was a shocking appointment and was always going to end up like this. You must be the first fan I’ve actually heard say they were happy with him being appointed in the first place the bloke has failed in every managerial job he’s had.
If fans had been allowed in the ground last season he would have been gone then, send the hobbit back to middle earth, he’s a clueless knacker, every post match interview is the same Shpiel, enough is enough, kld needs to act now!
I honestly believe that the best head coach we can probably get in is someone we will never have heard of. It could be a young foreign manager who is used to the set up with a DOF and has new ideas of coaching and getting the best out of what he has. I'm sure the recruitment team and owner are monitoring people like this from all over Europe, I really wanted it to work for LJ and for him to build something special here I just don't think he's able, I don't have an alternative but as I've mentioned before that's not my choice let's hope that the ones making the choice make the right one
I actually thought about this when someone on RTG asked if we could attract Neil Critchley from Blackpool. I thought no we couldn't but we could think outside the box for a change and try something different
Nowt's happening today. Usually there are rumours and sources with a bit of inside info. The silence is deafening Maybe defeat at Cambridge will hasten his exit (not that I want us to lose of course)
Its staggering that the only one who got anywhere near sustaining a spell in the top two was Jack Ross, which we still managed to massively **** up. The seasons same to follow a similar path every year, left with games in hand a few points off the pace. Imagine being on the pace and then having games in hand. I think we're all weary with it because we've seen this exact same thing before. The Ipswich performance was poor but the result excellent, a platform to build on. Then last night a goal up against ten men, a good side goes and has the game won by 60 mins but we let them in and leave with a point when others above us have failed to win.
Yes mate. I've been firmly on the fence until now, but I've let my anger from last night subside, thought carefully about our situation and now my mind is made up. I don't think we have any chance of getting promoted with Johnson in charge. He has shown no signs of addressing our defensive frailties and this is having a knock on effect on our creativity. The players are **** scared to make a mistake because they know how open we are. Time for Speakman to act.
I know where you're coming from and you're right, there has been no improvement by changing managers. However, most people on here wanted to see the back of Parky because they felt he had taken them as far as he could. I've thought long and hard about this overnight and I feel the same way about Johnson. In my opinion, we have a good squad of players, who if moulded into a team that suits our talents, could easily finish 2nd to Rotherham. It's not the players, it's the shape of the team that's the problem. All Johnson has done to try to address the slide is change personnel. Evans has been ****e, but Blackburn fans told us that he played well in a midfield 3 but struggled in a 2. This is just an example of playing to your strengths. Playing 3 in the middle with 2 wing backs would make us harder to break down. Crosses into the box have been a problem, so having 3 in the middle, with the wing backs dropping in would make us more solid in dealing with those crosses. Not sure zonal marking works either. 3-5-2 would suit our personnel better, but there's no sign of Johnson adopting that.
We maybe should of thought of that when they sacked Di Canio and kept the s hit show behind him that he told them about.
