Haway man, we all pick holes in everyone’s comments it’s nowt personal. Christ I’d be on all day if I picked up on that
Seems like quite a few City fans have a problem with Johnson because of nepotism or something and it's got bugger all to do with how he actually did with them no matter how they try and dress it up. He did fine with Bristol City in the championship and that's a fact. Not sure if he's doing fine with us or not it depends how highly you rate our squad and the standard of the league. I wouldn't say I had no issues with him but I don't have any big ones at the moment.
Reputations of what a coach/manager has done in the past matter little if he loses football games. LJ since Portsmouth has lost games and in a manner which suggests his tactical nous and substitutions have been poor. The defence has been roughed up and bullied somewhat and has leaked goals, we have created few chances and had few corners. Having said that I can wish for nothing else than we go on a winning run...if we don't!
Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel. I was quite happy with the squad at the start of the season but now I think we lack some power in certain areas and there are some holes in it. Doesn't mean I don't question him sometimes. I think the nepotism thing has followed him around quite a bit. His dad did keep signing him for different clubs. Obviously that can't apply with us though. People seem to have a problem with the way he talks so maybe that's it. I suppose its natural if you don't like someone for a particular reason, you're going to be more critical of them about other things.
I'll 'dress' it for you. He sold our family silver, Bryan, Reid, Ayling, Flint, Kelly for £46million. Will never forgive him signing the useless BaileyWright to replace Flint making him club captain as well. He made 65 signings in 4 seasons and left us with now playing kids instead of his signings. Pearson has one hell of a job repairing the damage of Lee Johnson. You are right about nepotism. Lee Johnson never played ONE league came for anyone in English football without his father holding his contract.
Doubt he had much say about selling off all their best players either. It's not typically something a manager looks to do. If their club's in a sorry state due to excessively high player turnover it's going to be down the owner not the manager. The Donald effect.
To be fair mate I don’t see this Johnson hate thing people are on about, I reckon any manager in charge of us who was consistently dishing up the s hite we’ve been watching should be on the brink of being sacked.
It was only a run of 3 league defeats. Just a blip. Calling for him to be sacked for that is ridiculous.
What does it matter if he played for his dad? Hardly has any impact on his ability as manager. That deal for Aden Flint looks like a good one. 7m for a player who'd reached his peak. Its not like he went for peanuts and went on to be a world beater.
Like I said before, we won’t make that decision, but he seems to be trying his hardest to slip that noose further round his neck. Fingers X for a win today,
had today been yet another dire performance i would be moving into the 'LJ out' camp although not fully settled. mainly i wanted to see improved performances, now whether he hit lucky today with evans needing replacing or not we will never know but by hook or by crook he seems to have hit a good combination...also there was far more fight and urgency within the team today. december looking a good month with 4 home and only 2 away league games and nowt i would class as a 'massive, tough fixture', any game is winnable when we play our game.
